Yes they do.

As you have seen already, many people on this board are crazy and don't like or know how to stay on topic. This is completely normal behavior for them and I personally hate it.

I always have questions. Are the Bengals bad at committing penalties? Do they have a good third down conversion rate? How good is their pass rush?
I'm not crazy JW just an Injun with lot's of peyote in the peace pipe.

Liar.
Quote:1 How long have you been a Bengals fan?

2 Do you remember the 2 Super Bowl appearances?

3 What are the Bengals biggest needs to actually go deep into the playoffs?

4 Are most Bengals fans happy with Dalton as your QB?

5 What category do most Bengals fans put Dalton in? Franchise, great, very good, above average or whatever most Bengals fans think of him.

I'm talking regular season on Q5, I know what they think of him in the playoffs so far.
1. I've been a Bengals fan since around 1977 (when I started to get old enough to understand football somewhat)

2. I absolutely remember the 2 SB appearances (can't stand the 49ers to this day)

3. Personally, I believe coaching is the biggest issue with Cincy having playoff struggles and not getting to that next level. Alot of people like Lewis, and he did bring them out of the "Bungle" days. But,, he's 0-5 in the playoffs (he had 2 home playoff games with Carson Palmer, long before Dalton even got in the league),, he has an absolutely dreadful record in Primetime games,,, and dreadful after Bye Weeks.

The Bengals are constantly making dumb penalties and situational mistakes. IMO,, coaching is what's needed to make the next step up.

4. Dalton,,, it's about a mixed bag of fans that are happy with him vs those unhappy

5. Dalton is average to above average IMO. At times, he is really really good. And other times, he is really bad. He's still young though,,, it's only his 4th season.
The first playoff loss with Carson Palmer was mostly with Jon Kitna. Kimo von Olhoffen hit  Palmer's knee on his first pass attempt, tearing multiple ligaments so bad he needed a transplant.

Which current or recent QB does Dalton play like the most?

JW,, I'll try to answer some of these for you:

- the Bengals do commit alot of dumb penalties (they may not be the most penalized team, but it seems when the penalties are committed that it is usually at a crucial point).

Andre Smith, Jermaine Gresham are notorious for drive killing penalties, usually in scoring territory that moves them out of FG range. Whitworth, although he is one of the best LT in the game IMO, is also capable for crucial holding calls against him at inopportune times.

Burfict is usually a penalty target too, but he's not playing this week I don't think.

- Not sure about actual 3rd down conversion rate. But last week,, they converted alot of big 3rd downs against the Ravens.

- The pass rush has actually been the Bengals biggest strength over the past 2-3 seasons. It has slowed somewhat this year (due to the loss of Michael Johnson, and Geno Atkins still not playing as beastly as he did before his injury last year). Even though it has slowed somewhat,, it is still capable of being a dominant force. A few games this year (Ravens x2, Falcons, Titans) they were all overy the opposing QBs.

Carlos Dunlap is one of the best DE that no one every hears about. He is a beast at times. Gillberry is more than capable too. Of course,, when Geno Atkins is "on" hrs a monster. I wonder how the Jags Rookie Center is going to fare against Geno this week? It should be interesting to see.

True,,, but the Bengals had beaten the Steelers a few times with Kitna before. Just couldn't come through in the playoffs.

Good question. I'm not sure about that. At times, he reminds me of Matt Ryan or Stafford. Sometimes, he reminds me of a "poor man's" Joe Flacco. Other times,, he reminds me of Henne, seriously.

Dalton can be really good or really bad, up and down. To me, "Dalton's just Dalton."
Pittsburgh owns the title of "most penalized team." Burfict is out, which will help us.

I expect the Jags to run a lot for two reasons. 1.) The Bengals linebacking group is a revolving door of injuries and 2.) keep Blake away from throwing pick sixes.

I still think the Jags lose but I expect it to be a low scoring close game.

I agree. I actually think the Jags (mainly D Robinson) should have some success running against them. They should keep trying to run on them a lot IMO.
Thanks for offering your time answering questions!  Been nice to read your perspective.

Is Geno Atkins back from his recovery/slump to start the season?  Our offensive line and rookie are susceptible to pressure, so Atkins can really impact this game if he is healthy.

I read the Bengals are ranked 29th against the run, so even Toby Gerhart can get past them if the right plays are called. Of course I want to see a lot of Shoelace Sunday.

Luke Bowanko said he would prefer 25 run plays.

Geno Atkins (one of my favorite Bengal players btw) has had a few moments this year where he has looked very good. Overall though, it still seems he is nowhere near his dominant level of the previous two seasons.

It'll be an interesting match up to watch. Domata Peko is still pretty good up front too. That will also be interesting to watch if he is up against the Center.

That makes sense. The Bengals have not looked good against the run this year, from what I have seen.
Do you know anything about the Jags? Anything at all?

We always commit penalties, they are very silly, Andre Smith makes  a lot of penalties. I do think we do good job at third down conversions. I will say our pass-rush

is average to below average. Our pass rush was one of the best last year...

He is not fully back, but he did record a sack last game, so he does look back.

All I know is that they haven't been really good for some seasons now, They have a good running game and a not bad defense.

For approximately 4-5 yrs.

I don't remember it because I wasn't born at that time Tongue

I say, stop sucking badly when the spotlights are on you.

Most Bengals fan don't like him, but more are becoming fans of him every week.

Above average.

Jacksonville Jaguars Crash Course:

Our running game has been awful since Maurice Jones-Drew broke his foot two years ago. Denard Robinson is just now running a lot because Toby Gerhart hurt his foot and was out two weeks, so the coaches finally realized the wrong running back was starting all season. Nobody thinks D-Rob can carry the ball 25 times every week now, so Gerhart is still used as a situational runner.

If you ignore the eight quarters we gave up 119 points, our defense is in the top five against the run. Even counting that disastrous period, we are #2 in the NFL in sacks with 22. Brian Hoyer may not be as good as Andy Dalton, but 16/41 is a credit to our defensive line. But while we have been great up front, there are question marks at 2 linebacker spots, cornerback, and nickel back mainly because of recent season-ending injuries.

Our last playoff win was after the 2007 season. After that it was all downhill because of injuries and a bad general manager and bottomed out with a bad coach. We can't go any direction but up with David Caldwell and Gus Bradley and are really just going through growing pains, not short on talent. Half of our offense is rookies. The other half is second year players. The only veteran starter is left guard Zane Beadles, who sucks without Peyton Manning.
