Quote:The best thing about Luck to Jags fans is that he is NOT Peyton Manning. Thank goodness for that.

PM was pretty much unbeatable by the Jags for the last too many years.

Luck is not anywhere near that level of unbeatable as PM was.

Seems like he is every time he plays you guys...
Luck has clearly playing at a higher level than he has done his first 2 seasons.

That being said I would take Manning over Luck any day of the week.

So you'd take Manning-- Super Bowl winning Manning, Pro Bowl Manning, perhaps the best regular season QB ever-- over Luck, a third year player? Woah, look out, we have a wild man amongst us. A real risk taker!

Yeah I understand where you're coming from with that but the majority of clots fans here insist they would rather have luck than Peyton.

I've been abused here before for not rating Luck in the top 5 qbs...

Big Ben reminded us who the 2 time Superbowl champ is today too...

Don't worry, that's what they HAVE to say.

They might even be a little sour with PM because even though they had all those years of elite QB play, all they could muster was 1 SB win.

That still baffles me to this day, a QB as all-time great as PM and just 1 Super Bowl ring.

It will be a good while before they compete for a SB with Luck. I don't mean playoffs, I mean really be considered a SB contender.
In fact I was getting abused in this thread for considering Brady better than Luck a few weeks ago.

Colt/Luck fans are very selective on who is great from week to week.

No, you were trying to say Luck wasn't playing better than Brady AT THAT TIME. Which was false. Luck was clearly outplaying Brady.

Brady outplayed Luck this week, but Luck still had a good game (especially considering the offensive line was terrible today).
Its funny how quicklu people said Brady was washed up. Same kind of people said the steelers should move on from big ben. These guys are still elite. Two or three games doesn't redefine years worth of greatness.

A lot of people don't understand how spoiled we have been with the great collective QB play the last few years.

When Brady, Brees, Peyton, and big Ben decide to hang them up there is really going to be a significant lack of great qbs in the league.
Exactly. You give guys like Brady who has made 5 Superbowls a bit longer than 3-4 games before they aren't called elite anymore.

A further 4 games on and you can argue Brady has played the best this season. Imagine if he had the Colts receivers and defensive play (before this week)

Lol! Yet Andrew has been far more successful than Manning in his first 4 years!

What???

Are you reading posts that I can't see or something?

Who said Brady was washed up? I NEVER did. Luck was playing better than Brady at that point in the season.

It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp.

I am not sure I seen too much Andrew did wrong yesterday! And yes I have seen Peyton look exactly the same as Luck did yesterday! Pittsburgh had been a thorn in the Colts side for too long!

The safety was a bad decision. The pick six was a bad throw, reminded me of the Saints defeat of Indy in the SB!

Me too, honestly. He had a pretty good game. Especially given how the defense let Roethlisberger trot up and down the field without EVER having them punt (not counting Ben's 'punt'). Making Luck HAVE to put up 50+ points. Also, the offensive line had their worst game of 2014. They've been pretty solid in pass protection this year... until this game.

Lebeau had a brilliant game plan! And fact here to the Richardason haters. He is important to this club. I have witnessed him stone so many blitzes.

Schedule came out any long time colts fan knew this was a very likely loss. Makes the Philly game much more painful.

Sure he has, he has the BIG benefit of playing in the AFCS which is the worst division in the AFC and 2nd worst in all of the NFL (NFCS is worst with every team having a losing record)

He plays 6 games, more then a 3rd of the season, against the worst division in the AFC and feasts on them.

How many games has he won in a row against the AFCS now?

Until the AFCS gets better he will go 6-0, maybe 5-1 easily. That leaves 10 games where he can go 5-5 and breeze into the playoffs each year.

Those are the reasons he has a better record then PM in his 1st 4 years, not because he's better than PM.

The division was a whole lot better back when PM was coming up and not the patsies they are today, in Luck's era.

If KC didn't suffer that monumental collapse in the playoffs last year, Luck would be 0-3 in them. he's very lucky to be 1-2.
Trying to remember when Gabbert outgunned Peyton...I can't

You may be right. I remember some dog teams in those early days too. Jets and Buffalo, Miami had moved on from Marino an NE hadn't elevated Brady yet. So I am not sure the East was that much tougher than the South. But will give you it probably was slightly better. But let's not preten they were great!
why do these colts fans come over here seeking validation?  my goodness get a life.

You don't see them in the Jaguars forum. Since this is AFC South seems pretty much on topic. Whine some more! Find another active AFC south forum worth visiting and get back with me.
