Quote:The thing is, I really don't think Foles is all that bad, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he flat out beats Blake for the start.
Without actually making a list of the qbs ahead of him and using this as a ballpark figure, id say at very best hes the 20th best starting qb if he started a season with us. Hes not actually good, but hes not a total disaster. He can beat 2016 blake but hes never gonna actually take us anywhere so more often than not we'd end up choosing Blakes perceived upside.

i question your football IQ
From what I saw in the last two games, Bortles has the tools to become a dawned good QB. I don't want to throw out the word franchise yet, but he certainly has the potential. His play immediately reflected the sideline change. With an offseason to heal his injuries and work on his mechanics, then training camp/preseason to mesh with the staff changes, I think we'll see an improved and consistent product. IMHO, of which I have no proof, I believe Gus just rubbed him the wrong way and it showed on the field. He's the kind of player who needs constant and consistent reinforcement. Gus gave him hugs.
Quote:So if a pitcher throws 9 innings giving up only a solo homerun and nothing else,( yet loses 1-0) he sucks?

A baseball analogy in football ?? But to answer your question, no the pitcher dont suck.. But at the end of the day its his pitch and nobody elses that gave up the homerun, so although he dont suck, he still isnt good enough to get a win, and thats what matter.. Even in Baseball... Google Dan Marino..

Like, Dan Marino didn't play baseball. Duh.

Yet it has nothing to do with the performance of the offense, who did not perform? Being I grew up watching guys like Marino, really no need to google anything. Elway was on the same road until this guy named Davis came along.

I absolutely loved Randall Cunningham. He never won a Superbowl but he was exciting to watch.

So yea calling people in HOF like Marino losers. Or saying they stink. Is uncalled for.

Football like Coughlin says is a team sport. And 30 teams every year. Dont get there.

Does that mean they are losers? Absolutely not.

They play To me more in the hands of the pitcher...But back on subject i dont dislike Bortles... I dislike watching him play like crap.. Wasting my time... Time i cant get back.. 3 seasons to me is enough to see whether the guy can play or not..

He showed that in 2015. 2016 was bad, but Imo, every QB deserves the chance to right the ship if he played well the previous year. Now, if 2017 is a clone of 2016, then there isn't much most can do to defend him.
For blake to have a bad season he still had 23 td's and the second most yds in franchise history.

You think anybody in the league thinks 23 td is an accomplishment??
Quote:The problem with Nick foles and all the other FA quarterbacks is that theyre all bad. So if Nick Foles is brought it

A: Blake is better than him and doesnt have to compete for anything

B: Theyre both equally bad and a pseudo competition plays out in the media until Blake is officially named starter by the end of the offseason when really hes our 3rd overall pick and was never going to lose his job to a bad free agent.

The idea for competition sounds nice in theory but it isnt real. Blake is the QB for 2017 until he plays so bad that he cant possibly start anymore.

Im all for the Romo trade but that ship has sailed in my opinion.

lol what makes you think Bortles is better than Foles?

What do you think is accomplishments you're the QB expert?

leading your team to the playoffs. Thats easy..

Well I guess that means Osweiler is pretty good. So just in case you didn't know this you need a team to make it to the playoffs which in our case that means we need a legitimate running back, and offensive line that can bolt run and pass block, Allen Robinson can beat a jam consistently and be more than a one-trick pony, Allen hurns can stop dropping balls and staying healthy, Julius Thomas stay in shape and be used in the offense properly, and the deepest to take their game to another level by creating more turnovers and give me the office better field position during the game. We also need Blake to return to his 2015 form but everything should be on him for this team to be successful when he needs help around him as well but I guess he's the only one that gets the blame right?

No we need Blake to better then 2015, and 2016 form.. Yea i agree of course you need a team , but the qb is the main piece... And Osweiler trash.. Savage the one that could have helped the Texans... You defend Bortles please tell me why?

No we need Blake to better then 2015, and 2016 form..We need him to stop committing costly turnovers and to improve his accuracy and decision making.. Yea i agree of course you need a team , but the qb is the main piece... And Osweiler trash.. Savage the one that could have helped the Texans... You defend Bortles please tell me why?
