Quote:Does anyone know offhand who was the last team with a winning record (not .500, but better) that the Jags beat and what was the date?

I can't even remember.

With a winning record at the time or at the end of the season?
Quote:I believe we can beat the Titans but no one else.

We can beat the Dolphins.
Quote:We can beat the Titans.  The bengals just got absolutely destroyed. Cowboys, Colts, and Ravens are guaranteed losses.  Giants are bipolar, and the texans are beatable.  I agree that the fan base is over hyping, but to say we can only win 1 more is ridiculous.

I think the Texans are bipolar too. We will find out tonight. GO STEELERS!

At the time the Jags beat them.

I looked around on the net and found this one.

The 1-5 Jags hosted the 4-1 Ravens on MNF on 10/24/2011 and won the game  12-7.

Is this really the last time, 3 freaking years ago this week?

I even found the Vegas line for the game: Ravens favored by 10.5, over/under 39.

Quote:This is about as intelligent as saying the Jags are still having blackout problems.

It's not 2009 anymore. The Browns had a top 3 rushing attack and have been scoring more than 21 ppg. The Jags held them to 6.

The first win of the season and "fans" are lined up to stop anyone from giving any credit to their own team.

Since you called me dumb, I looked back to 2013 as the last complete season since 7 games this season does not firmly establish how a team will finish this season.

The Browns were..

27th in points scored

23rd in points against

11th in passing yards

8th in yards against

27th in rushing yards

18th in rushing yards against

Bottom line, they are, and I propose, will prove to be an average team.

The Rams beat the Hawks, what does that make them, football gods?

what the hell is your point?

we beat an average team by 18 points.  Be happy.

nobody is claiming we beat Peyton's Broncos.
The only statistics that matter are those from THIS YEAR not last year. Look up the 2014 statistics.

Every party has it's pooper.

Evidently, Jeremy is not the kind of person that gets invited to parties.

Something, goes over like something, something, in a punch bowl, something else.

Eggzactomondo.  It was a good win and our D has put together 3 very good performances.  It is okay to say we played well, sheesh.

Ah, yes, I remember that game. Watching Trent Dilfer babble and whine after the Ravens lost to the lowly Jaguars about how the Jags didn't win, the Ravens beat themselves was truly a moment I won't ever forget.

I will never forget Brendan Ayenbadejo getting ejected for giving Guy Whimper and open-hand punch to the face mask.
Quote:If both the Jaguars and Bengals repeat their performances yesterday on the day we meet them, count that game as a win too. I heard their game was worse than the score.

Bengals are a much tougher team in Cincy than they are on the road. They have a bunch of key players out with injury (yes, I know all teams have injuries, but Cincy is especially bitten right now). They get AJ Green, Zeitler, and Eifert back real soon.

Plus,, Marvin Lewis' record in October is downright abysmal. I think it's something around 4-29 for his tenure. Jags get them in November.

Bengals beat the Ravens in Baltimore when they had a healthy team.

Jags do have a shot,, but I would not go near as far to say "count on that as a win in Cincy."
Are you guys really arguing AFTER the Jags first win of the season?

Come on guys, enjoy the win.

Who the heck cares about what the Browns are or what they aren't?

The Browns had a winning record when they came in and the Jags had a win-less record, and the Browns were favored to win and were playing well when they came here.

Sure, they had injuries, but the Jags had injuries too.

Just relax and enjoy this win, because we don't know when the next win will come.

The only thing we do know it that the Jags will have been underdogs when it happens, whenever that is.

If you want to bicker after the next loss, fine, but just enjoy this one for now.

I thought this was a board for discussing Jaguars topics.  I now stand corrected and understand it's a board for agreeing with the popular opinion of the week.

My bad ya'll!

lol, discuss all you like, just enjoy the win though.

It's been 9 games since the last win.

As you know a Jags win is about as rare as a.........., well, you know what I mean.

Agreed and I am glad they won...

However, I read some of this board and jaguars.com prior to watching the game and you would have thought we whooped up on them and that wasn't exactly the case.

24 - 6 begs to differ.

OK...

The Browns shot themselves in the foot as much as we played well.
