Quote:I wasn't able to see the game live (traveling) but after reading the hype following the game and then watching the game (Game Rewind) I saw some good things but certainly not the hype everyone seemed to have.

They are the Browns and not a good team.  The Jags won and that's obviously a good thing but there is more than plenty of room for improvement after this game.  I wouldn't call this a break out game or anything.  Looking ahead to the rest of the schedule, I don't see 1 more winable game outside of the Titans.

The Browns helped the Jags win as much as the Jags helped themselves.  There's plenty of good to build on from the game but I would wait to see more sustained improvement until acting like we just won the Super Bowl.

Am I the only one thinking this?

Nobody is acting like we won the superbowl.  Some here are excited to see the progress result in a win.

Of course there are negatives.  Bortles played badly, but if you're of the positive mindset the offense was still moving the ball and was able to win the field position game the whole game.  It turned out to really benefit with turnovers when the browns had long fields which gave us easier scoring opportunities.

Defense played really well.  The Dline had Hoyer rushed all day.  If he wasn't getting hit he was being skittish.  He wanted nothing to do with holding onto the ball.  That type of pressure causes these drops and off-target passes.  Sure he simply flat out missed a few throws, but that just goes to show you how much the defense got to him.

The Browns didn't have Mack, so we can't really guage the run game as far as that goes, but there were holes last week where there weren't before.

Robinson caught pretty much everything thrown at him and still hasn't had a drop.  The oline played much better in the run game and had an above average game in pass protection.

Blake showed some promise in the 2 minute drive down the field at the end of the first half for a (ended up being game winning) TD pass to  Robinson.  That whole drive was Blake finding guys, making plays, extending plays with his legs, etc.

That's what you want to see with our team right now.  We saw it.  It feels good.

Exactly.

There's no shame in being pleased with progress, especially since it finally came through with a win at the end of the day.  This is still a young team that is continuing to build, and now we've seen 2 key injuries to a defense that has progressively gotten better each week, and had their best outing of the season this past Sunday.  Let's see how they respond to the injuries moving forward.
YES!
