If you really need to have a "fall guy" then it all starts with HOW we built which is young and to improve. Thats on Dave Caldwell. But I think we all knew what was going to happen before it happened and yet here we are in week 6 trying to blame everything on everyone else than admitting its going to take time. Rome wasnt built in one night.

Quote:Sorry, when your starting rookie QB throws for 370+ yards I have trouble blaming the lack or production on the coaches or the QB and more on ROOKIES not able to make plays. Its not common at all for rookie WRs to come in and make big plays all the time and go for over 1000 receiving yards. The entire offensive line is young players and a bad player in Zane Beadles. Other than that I dont see anything wrong with the playcalling and actually expect the offense to improve over the next 2 and a half months.

That makes no sense at all.  It's far too logical.

Well said
Koetter, lol

No thanks!
Koetter has an offense with a good to very good QB and very good receivers, and they are tied for 10th in 3rd down conversions even though they are 2nd or 3rd in pass yards.

Typical Koetter...

He doesn't make offenses better then their component parts.

When he was here with underwhelming talent, he was lost. Anyone remember the amount of bubble screens we used to run?

Now in Atlanta they are under-acheiving.

Why would anyone want to bring that guy back. Just keep the Fish if you're thinking that!

It doesn't help that their oline is decimated.
Quote:Ha, funny.....except, there actually is a realistic chance that all of Harbaugh/ Koetter/ and Rex Ryan become available this offseason, while there is pretty much ZERO chance that the 4 players you cite become available this offseason.

I would doubt the Steelers fire Tomlin. He's won 2 SB there and they don't make changes much with their head coaches that have a history of winning. Had Tomlin not won anything there, then I might be more apt to agree with the chances of him becoming available in the offseason. But as it is now. Doubt it.

Tomlin won only 1 SB. Cowher won the other....unless I am remembering wrong.
i orginally thought beadles would be a very good signing with our ZBS, but i might have to agree with TMD here that he is not as good as advertised or paid. he needs to get his stuff together.

I think we should replace Beadles with a younger player, he cant do any worst, and he can grow and learn like the rest of the line. our line is very young and inexperienced. After this year i expect them all to be much better. but if we yank them and put older FA in the line the younger players will not grow and learn together to form a solid line for years. Suffer the pains of inexperience this year and the gains will be shown next year.
Firing Babich would be really pointless.  I don't even know why we have a DC.  Does Andy Reid and Sean Peyton use OCs?  No, if you are a coach who specializes in offense or defense, you should be capable of calling your own plays.  They obviously have an OC on staff, but they don't call the plays.  They are merely assistants.

Lee Majors?

Heather Thomas kick started many a puberty back in the day.

Damn!  I was most of the way through the thread ensuring nobody used my joke, then your post.

Indeed. God bless her little heart.  (and Catherine Bach too)
Babich!!!!!!!!!!! Nuff said.

Does Andy Reid not call his own plays?  That is the point Im trying to make.

But Gus doesnt call the defensive plays. this is where i think we need a change let him start working on making the defense better.

Babich calls the plays.   If anyone is to be a scapegoat after this season, it's likely him. Gus has said repeatedly that he let's Babich call the plays during the game and doesn't interfere.  Obviously it's Bradley's scheme - and he's in on the game plan - and Babich has a feel for what Gus would probably do  - but Babich calls the defense on game day.

I don't agree with your usage of scapegoat. Babich would be totally deserving of being canned. No "scapegoating" at all. He wasn't any good as DC with the Bears before coming here, was DEmoted from his perch back then, and he's still no good at it. Badly (love that haha) never should have hired him for that position.
