Quote:My point is both of those guys had career years with Blake Bortles under center, he obvioulsy makes guys better than what they actually are, that's my point.

We saw that during the Colts game. During the secolnd half even Toby Gerhart was able to pick up a good number of yards. I knew right away Blake Bortles has the "it factor" that can't be taught.

Last night I watched You Tube videos of Bortles UCF highlights. Some of his touchdowns were as impressive at the receiver's end, like a one-handed reaching grab in the end zone.
Blake has a natural ability to feel the rush or movement around him. This is (one of) the things that makes Tom Brady so good. Moving up a step, a small shuffle to the right and always keeping eyes downfield. This is inate and Blake has it in spades. It was also what Gabbert didn't have, but we all knew that. Even when Blake looks to be in trouble, he'll shuffle around and still make the connection, I think this is what where the Roethlisberger comparisons come from. The great thing is, he's been compared to so many great QB's in the league that it's obvious he just does so many things really well......ALREADY!

Imagine this team in 2 more years. Seriously, if he continues to grow and get better, which why wouldn't he, he's going to be seriously great. I know it's frustrating to live through this season, but we all knew 2015 was the year.

I'm excited!

Quote:LOL I only saw him do that once - before a snap at Tennessee.

Regarding the tongue, I don't think I've seen an action pic of him NOT doing it. It's where the power comes from. Wink
DUPLICATE  - SORRY

He was awesome in the NCAA '12, '13, '14 video games.

Me too! How could you not be after seeing his sack escapes and downfield throws? I watched some UCF hightlights videos on You Tube. The first two minutes of this one feature amazing displays of that ability:

I wish I could copy and paste a picture of Bortles throwing the ball while getting knocked down from the right side. He was actually falling down and probably did not see a receiver make a one-handed catch in the end zone. And that sack escape, wow, how many NFL quarterbacks can get out of there and complete the pass?

Just watching this video makes me wonder why people kept saying he is not ready for the NFL yet. This guy is for real and was already very good before the Fiesta Bowl.

Quote:Ben won his first 13 starts. You realize that, right?

Quote:No, Pitt. did.  The had a dominant and number 1 D.  A all pro offensive line with Alan Faneca etc., Jerome Bettis, a prime Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress.  Yeah I think Bortles could of done the same thing.  That team was loaded

Amen.  Roethlisberger gets sooo much credit for doing sooo very little that season.
