My money is on Winger THINKING he did but it was actually an old toaster.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world really ended on May 31.   And there we were, worried for nothing that the Message Board was going to shut down on June 1

Winger Dinger got a stinger on his thinger. More importantly to all of the old time board members, did she kiss with tongue?

Actually, I can see her kicking down Tom Coughlin's office door because she thought he blocked AOL. .
Quote:Not unexpected, but how did Winger feel about it?

ouch !!
L-A_M_F_A_O!   Yes I intentionally bypassed the filter, so that should be "strike one".  However, this thread really did that to me.

The bunkers for waiting out bad times not end of the world more like end of the world as we knownit. I honestly don't have a bunker it was a joke someone started a while back and just stuck. I do activity homestead and try and work towards independence eating what we grow harvesting rain water raising our own meat loading ammo and hopefully one day am off grid electric setup.
Not to worry, a private company has created underground vaults, so we can have underground communities.  And they probably won't do horrible experiments on us.  I mean you'd trust a company called Vault-Tec right?  It'd destroy their reputation if they experimented on the last of humanity.

Quote:Eric, did you read or see The Road? A family had a well stocked bunker, which they abandoned. Sooner or later the urge to find other humans will compel migration.

Yes love that movie!

We are actually looking to do the same thing here soon.  My wife and I are near retirement age, and have been looking for property down your way as well as in the Keystone Heights area.  I have a friend that lives down there that has a sign on the front of his property (around 50 acres) that reads "If you pass this sign you are no longer trespassing, you have become a target".  That's the kind of place that we are shopping for right now.

Lol there's a lot more to homesteading than crazy occults we don't avoid interacting with the outside world. I run an automotive garage interact with hundreds of people every week. I have 20 something thousand post in here. We just don't want to be dependent on anyone thats different from being independent of everyone.

Or maybe it sounds like how every American lived a 100+ years ago. Seriously, when did being independent from Government subsidy come to equal 'cult' status in the publics mind. Shows what education is teaching: Don't live off the grid, only crazys do that, you need big brother to protect you, just like we did in Katrina. If there is one thing the government has shown time and time again, its that in a crisis, it won't be around to help when you need it the most, and you'll be on your own or at the mercy of charity.

An independant person is a smart one, the person who believes the government will take care of everything, well that's what I would call a 'cult' of ignorance.
Ummm...hmmm...

Think I'll just turn on some REM and sing along....and I feel fine

Piss It!

Whoosh ..... sarcasm right over your head.  HandsomeRob86 meets JW

Anyway, kind of funny to have a person living in the heart of Magic Kingdom where 50 billion tourist visit per year talking about living off the grid.  Sounds like you're an Off The Grid Wannabe but can't get away from Xfinity and Starbucks.  Nice try.
