Quote:The Jaguars haven't had the type of success in the 2000's that would lead generations of Dolphins fans changing favorite teams. If the Jaguars had a run like the Patriots did in the early part of the 21st Century, I believe the Jaguars would be the most popular AFC Team in Central Florida in the present. All one can do is learn from the past. With Blake Bortles, it looks like the Jaguars have a very good opportunity for a bright future.
They must seize the moment though....Winning, and consistent and dominating winning has to happen for the above to happen.

Agreed.
Using the Patriots as an illustration again, until the Robert Kraft era, much of New England consisted of Giants fans. This dates back to the pre-AFL days when Boston / New England didn't have a professional football team for decades. The Giants were the closest team and had many great seasons. While many of the older fans remained Giants fans, the Patriots finally won over the new generations of fans when Bill Parcells turned the franchise around and especially in the Bill Belichick / Tom Brady era.
While it will be difficult to convert older Dolphins and Bucs fans, big time success by the Jaguars with Blake Bortles as the team's QB should win over a large part of the new generations in Central Florida and in other Secondary markets of the team.

Louisiana too. I have a good friend, whose dad is from outside New Orleans. He said growing up most people were Cowboys fans, The Saints were sort of an afterthought. That was mostly the case under Payton/Brees got to town.
A few Bucs fans are not happy with the CBS station in Orlando showing Jags game. Oh well.

What's ironic about what you mentioned is that there's now a sizeable Saints fan base in the state of Texas. In part because of the team's success starting when you mentioned ( 2006 ). In part also because of the large number of people from New Orleans that moved to Texas because of Hurricane Katrina.
In addition to Sean Payton and Drew Brees, the impact that the draft pick addition that Reggie Bush had in getting people to support the Saints financially had a substantial role in keeping the Saints in New Orleans.

Fortunately for both fan bases, a conflict is more of the exception than the norm because the teams are in opposite Conferences.
Because Orlando is a sizeable market, the NFL probably shouldn't schedule the Jags and Bucs at the same time, on the same network.
