So which of these guys ^ exactly are you prematurely writing off?
I think the jury is still out on the majority of them and I could see 9 or 10 of them being long term starters.
My 9 or 10 : Joeckel - Cyprien - Linder - Sanders (WR4/PR) - D Rob (COP back) - McCray - (corner) - Bortles - Lee - A Robinson -
?Gratz (nickel)
I just wrote on another thread.... looking at the 2013 draft class, I was expecting a bigger "jump" in performance.
none of them besides McCray have significantly improved or contributed more. It's one of the reasons we're losing consistently.
Name one of Caldwell's guys who looks like a future star? Bortles is incomplete because of only 2 games but 0 of them look like franchise players. You normally see flashes from young guys. Hurns maybe his best pickup

Just because that's what you expected does not mean it's realistic.
How do we determine realistic benchmarks for what is reasonable growth for players going into their second year without citing ridiculous outliers (in either direction)? And no, I'm not trying to flame you...that's not my style. I't s a legitimate question that I think we collectively need to establish an answer for before breaking out the pitchforks and acetylene torches.

I wanted to see more from that group too, but to be fair:
D-Rob has only had a significant number of touches in one game thus far, Joeckel has under-achieved but is still pretty darn green, Cyprien has been hurt and/or trying to compensate for the incompetence around him and still played solid - Sanders has but one game to show - Gratz is just a disappointment.
In other words - I'm disappointed in the group as well, but we still might see Joeckel, D-rob, Sanders and Cyprien make strides sooner than later. I sure hope so. If not - I'll not defend that draft class so adamantly. I'm just not ready to write any of those guys off just yet.
Quote:Would you be impressed if I said a rookie quarterback threw for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns in just half of his first NFL game? Get real, Haze. It was just not his best day against the Steelers.
I wasn't talking about Bortles, it was an analogy.
