Quote:Ace Sanders was only equal to Mike Brown in talent prior to his suspesion, but I am hoping he improved (however with no practices I doubt it)...
I dont think cutting Winston Guy is going to spark the Defense since the last cuts didnt do the trick, but something has to be done.
I am hoping Slowby gets it together in this game....
Slowby better do something this game. I'm ready to call this a FA fail.

The plan is to let Toby and Denard split carries. Just having Blake as the quarterback helps both guys get more yards.
Quote:Does anybody think a win is possible?
Of course it's possible. But highly unlikely. So young, so inexperienced, it's going to take a few more games for these kids to realize how to have the stamina to finish games. Stuff that can't be taught is being learned right now.
But a win is possible - IMO don't count on it.
Quote:Do you know who our free safety is now?
We need to put Cyprien where the best wide receiver is. No other safety on our roster can shut that guy down.
My biggest worry defensively is Gratz. He was replaced by McCray, who is new and did not help much.
I don't think he could have played defense any better to the TD pass in the corner. It just barely missed his fingertips and he was all over it, just a fantastic play.
Gratz will be okay long term maybe in nickel, and Colvin will take over by season's end. Draft a CB high next year, BOOM Championship!
I miss the old afc central division. Pittsburgh was always a good rivalry.
Meh,, if anyone has any Steelers on their fantasy teams,, start 'em all.

Right now my only concern with Gratz is that big gray and white thing between his ears. It probably will keep him out Sunday.
I just hope Big Ben doesn't put on one of those masterful 2 minute drives in the 4th Quarter. . .So painful.

I don't want to see that in the second quarter either. Come on defense!

My 10 year olds strategy this year, drop everyone and pick up whoever is playing the Jags...
Working so far :/

Quote:Against previously winless Tampa Bay last Sunday, the Steelers’ inconsistencies weren’t even as consistent as they had been in the one-good-half, one-bad-half win over the Browns. In losing, 27-24, to the Buccaneers, the Steelers started off the game badly and ended it badly, but in between there were spurts of competence from all three phases. Mixed in among the penalties, of course.
“When you look at it from this perspective: you’re minus in the turnover ratio, and you’re one of the most highly penalized teams in football, we probably should be thankful that we’re 2-2,” said Tomlin. “We’re not going to waste a lot of time over-analyzing that. We are what we are. We’ve done some positive things. We’ve done some negative things. We have to move forward.”
In moving forward, the Steelers go from a game at home vs. a winless team to a game on the road vs. a winless team. The 0-4 Jaguars will be starting rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, and while that typically has been a recipe for success for the Steelers and defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, the team historically has had its share of problems in Jacksonville.
“Like I told the team yesterday, there’s not a lot of time in our business for feeling disappointment,” said Tomlin about any lingering emotions over losing to the Buccaneers in the final seconds. “The more important thing for us is moving out and past that and formulating a plan for finding consistency in our game and getting better across the board.”
Similarly to how people underestimated San Diego, I think a lot of you overestimate how good Pittsburgh really is. This is not a good team. Not as bad as the Jaguars obviously but pretty bad.
Well up front don't you guys have some good dline? The secondary is what scares me but if you can get pressure on Big Ben than he'll make some errant throws.
Antonio brown could be a problem, I think he is much better than Keenan Allen so the secondary must be ready to play. I think getting out to an early lead and forcing Ben to pass is the best bet. I've noticed Ben holds on to the ball a lot and is not as quick releasing the ball this year. If we can take that run out of the game early I like the jaguars chances.
I miss when we could play man coverage, we sit back and still get burned and it's frustrating as heck to watch.
Quote:Back to the Steelers: What is more likely to kill us, the passing game (because our defensive backs suck) or running game (because it is higher ranked)?
Against SD our run defense looked very good. If only we could change the rules in the NFL that forward passes were illegal... We could very well then tie the steelers...
With Gratz probably out and our terrible situation at FS, I don't think we can stop their passing game. We should be able to put a little pressure on Ben, but we're probably going to give up some big plays. That said, we are at home and I think we match up better against them then we did SD. Their defense isn't as good and we should be able to move the ball a bit better hopefully.
