Quote:so.......why is the Def Co and Toby G still here? this is a horrible message IMO. Toby played worse on a bigger contract
Slowby is here because they paid him a pretty penny and they will run him to the ground on 3rd and 1 conversions. However, D.Rob is seemingly taking his job away.

In Qatar...sorry i dont have all sorts of time to follow every detail...................so thats where the freak I have been
Jags have great luck with guys named Guy.

does he like to cover properly?
If you can't ball get out lets find people who can. We can't just keep expecting the same thing to net different results.
Winston not only couldn't cover, but he'd make stupid penalty mistakes

Looks promising
Looks like all of those big hits are legal, leading with the shoulder, hits.

Cause Toby Gerhart hasnt been here a full year yet and the OL is still not getting the push for a downhill runner.

Well, they signed him to a 3 year contract worth about 10 mil and can cut him after a year with relatively little salary cap impact. It's not like they broke the bank on the guy.

Exactly, They positioned themselves contract-wise to be able to cut this relatively unproven guy despite the large contract. This is an example of how amazing caldwell is with the structuring of contracts. We just need him to get us better players quicker.
Quote:"guys" that could be cut soon
alualu- playing terrible
anyone of the secondary aside cryprien
clemons-invisible
Any of the lb's
I'm not in disagreement (except for Poz), but who do you replace them with?
Do we spend the rest of the season test-driving cuts from other teams in the hope of improving a couple of spots? Maybe not a bad idea actually, at least then the message will get across; step up your game or pack your bags!

Alan Ball?? He's actually played quite well. Teams don't target his side often at all. That's telling. Blackmon has been doing OK at nickel, but has given up some plays. If you check out the snap counts - you'll see they've been playing a ton of nickel to keep the third linebacker from being abused. Blackmon was on the field more than Hayes, T Smith or JT Thomas in the last game.
Quote:Maybe I'm in the minority but how the hell are we still playing musical chairs on the starting roster in week 5 of year 2? Isn't this what the preseason a for? I get it the first year but come on
Would you prefer them to remain static and not do anything?

I think you missed his point. He doesn't want us to remain static....he wants us to actually find players that can play. How long does that process take? I'd take any tangible improvement.

I think McCray did pretty well too. He gave up the TD but still had pretty good coverage IMO. The throw and the catch were just really good.

Considering this was a complete rebuild and we're starting a bunch of rookies and journeyman FA's out of necessity, its going to take longer than 2 seasons.

When does competitive start? Cause we sure as hell aren't competitive yet. The fact that we are in the 2nd year and show zero signs of competitiveness is what is maddening. So year 3, maybe we go 4-12 but only lose by a TD, year 4, we go 6-10, year 5 we struggle for .500.....?
Quote:Wow. Can't argue this move
14 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pdef (1 int for a td during preseason which doesnt count as far as stats)...
In his 3rd year but he didnt start and play in a lot of games...
I think he couldve been coached up to be a better player...
I think a team will take a chance on him..

How competitive can you expect to be looking at the roster? You'd be hard pressed to find a handful of players on our team that could start for other teams around the league.
Its a process. We're all suffering thru each and every loss. But it'll get better because it can get much worse.
