Wrong. Garrard also took us to the playoffs. Even some years we did not make it, we were in the race to the end.

And its not like we won because of Garrard. He was good but he managed the game. To some degree so did Brunell. I want a QB like Peyton, Brees, Brady, or Rodgers. Someone the other defense dreads having to face.

The Chargers already are. It will be interesting to see what they learned about him in defensive meeting rooms.
No matter how good he is, I want to see improvement from the Colts game in everything he does.

I think the real question is what type of traits do the coaches want BB5 to focus on...
If the coaches want to groom BB5 into a game manager and become hesitant in the turnover department, we could see a more tentative QB.
If the coaches realize they must utilize all of BB5, then they open up the play book and let him play like the QB we saw in the pre-season and the 2nd half against the c'lots.
I hope the coaches realize their jobs depend on letting BB5 develop beyond their own limits as coaches...

Jedd Fisch said he will let Blake Bortles decide what plays are called and not called. If Bortles says he does not like a play, Fisch will take it out.
The offensive philosophy will not change, however. Bootleg passes and stretch plays will still be called.
It sounds to me like coaches are letting Bortles run the show and the playbook will open up because he can do more than Chad Henne.

Complete a throw beyond the first down marker. That would be a monumental start for this team.

Leadership; the team is starving for it. There's hasn't been an acknowledged #1 guy in years.

How about running for first downs too? I want to see first downs any way we can get them.
Bortles already has shown us he can keep drives alive. I am excited about seeing more of that Sunday.

Well from a pure football perspective throwing successfully beyond the sticks backs the defense off the line and opens a lane to run through thus rushing for first downs probably.

I want him to show the ability to elevate the play of those around him, perserverence, durability, leadership, and the ability to learn from and adapt quickly to mistakes.

He has already shown us the first one on that list. Durability is something you can't figure out in just one game. I don't know about adapting, but he does quickly learn from mistakes.

C;mon, man! We are just talking about one player on the offense.

People on the Denver boards still remember that game and talk about it. Man that feels like it was so long ago. I was 12 then. What is Brunell up to these days? I think I saw him calling a preseason game for you guys this year. Don't quote me on that though but I thought he called a game for you all this year.

The "it" Factor. I'd like to see him operate the 2 minute offense and when the chips are down I want to see that competitive spirit. Can you bring your team back after a slow start by putting together some clutch drives late? I know he can make the throws, he has the physical traits but I am more interested in his mental game. He is a rookie so I know some of these will take time but it's a process and since the season is still early there will be a lot of time to evaluate him by seasons end. It is exciting man. I can't wait and I'm not a long time jag fan, I'm just now getting on board so I know the big time die hard fans are excited. I'll get behind you guys and give support. Let's go to the jungle and get pumped up!
