In preseason a lot of people were making two predictions: one for if Henne starts every game and another for if Bortles becomes the starter. Well, now we can go back to having only one prediction because we know who the quarterback will be the rest of the year barring injury. So how many games do you think Bortles can win this season now that you have seen what he can do to the offense?
Remaining 2014 schedule:
at Chargers
Steelers
at Titans
Browns
Dolphins
at Bengals
Cowboys*
----------
at Colts
Giants
Texans
at Ravens
Titans
at Texans
Moderators, edit the subject title - I misspelled Bortles.
5-11
- unless the defense figures out how to stop the run, tackle, and play zone effectively.

Sounds about right to me
6-10
6-7 with Blake starting.
I'm as excited about BB starting as the rest of you, but he's not superman. Our defense has serious issues. To ask a rookie to continuously play "catch up" is a lot even for someone as talented as BB.
2-14
I think this Borles guy is going o be good...
6-8 wins is still the goal. We can make it to .500 if we start winning the TOP battle.
I think 6-7 games is reasonable if Bortles plays like he did yesterday and continues to grow going forward. His play will help keep the D off the field which will cover some of the deficiencies they have by doing so. His escapability will also help cover some of the lines problems. His throwing down field will open some holes for the RBs due to defenses not stacking the box with 8 or 9 players.

5-11.
Blake goes 5-8. Might be a tad optimistic, but I'm feeling it right now.
1 - 15
Too many holes to fill

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">That is quite optimistic but possible we win 6 games.
Bortles will lead the Jags to the playoffs in his rookie season, just like Ben Roethlisberger.
I picked the Jags to push for 8 wins this year. I think 4 or 5 is more likely now. If the OL can even start to gel and the offense can hold onto the ball for longer periods of time it'll give opponents fewer opportunities to score and maybe we can pull a few out late in the year. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.
3-13 As stated previously. The defense is horrendous and the O-line has no push. Go Jaguars
7 - 9 or 8 - 8 This is only based if the defense starts getting the offense off the field early then maybe
Chargers - Loss ( maybe pull this one close and win)
Steelers - Win
Titans - Win
Browns - loss
Dolphins - Win
Bengals - Loss
Cowboys - Win
Bye
Colts - Win (Pay Back)
Giants - Loss
Texans - Win
Ravens - Loss
Titans - Win
Texans - Loss ( we usually split )
If the D still struggles, then yes I see a different outlook, 5 - 11. :woot:

I wonder why no moderators have fixed the subject title yet.
JW, do you have a crush on Bortles?
Quote:Bortles will lead the Jags to the playoffs in his rookie season, just like Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger had a lot of talent around him and was the opening day starter. Big difference.
But I can see us going to the playoffs next year if we upgrade tight end, fullback, free safety, and a few other positions.

Are you serious? I am just super-excited he has been named our permanent starter and was so happy to see how the whole team got better when he was on the field.
I never thought I would smile after a blowout loss, but I did yesterday because the night and day difference during the second half made me a happy Jaguars fan.
4-12, 5-11. but it gonna be enjoyable to watch, with actual hope.
