Serious question. I heard we want Blake chants right from the beginning. He came in. Showed flashes of promise, but some bad rookie mistakes.
I don't understand the rational of fans who put blame on Henne. He is pedestrian we all get that. But blaming him when this Defense is horrendous.
First 6 possessions and Colts score.
My question is..why? This is our experienced group. Added some missing pieces, and they are absolutely the worst I've seen...especially with a decent line up...on paper anyway.
Why are they getting smacked around so bad?
Opening day. 20 th anniversary, and they looked like a deer in the headlights. Coaching? Don't care, no heart? So far I can see why Seattle thought Bryant and Clemmons were expendable.
Frustrating. Again.
I'm truly at a loss.
i think in the past that Babich has just had the benefit of having great players on defense
we dont have that

Think about the audience you're talking to. I wouldn't characterize too many as "forward thinking" or anything close to that. They will move on to their next [BLEEP] group chant next week. Then again, it may take longer than that. Football is complex, and the general bibber is fairly simplistic. They will spend a couple weeks with an open, blank stare, as they collectively seek their newest simplistic target of their ire.
Y'all find a way to push blame around instead of being happy we are moving forward lol. I personally think its about the offense complementing the defense. If the offense moves the ball and scores after their offense does the same thing then it wouldn't compound on itself so bad.
Why do we think the defense should stop the other team at all costs but the offense doesn't need to move the ball at all? That is disheartening for players to know their leader can only throw for 37 yards in two quarters of football. Professional or not.
We thought we fixed most of the defense in the offseason obviously they're still way off. I think finding journeymen like ball and Blackmon to fill in hurt us, it have us a false sense the secondary was fine when it's really not. Also we cut youth wen David came in as replaced it with vets like Bryant Clemons miller and marks that seems like a mistake now.
Aside from Blake and some potential at wr this regime isn't look to sharpe, this season needs to show serious progress or we might have a new GM pretty soon.
our defense for seconed week in a row missed a lot of tackles. You can't stop a team if your missing tackles.

This is definitely a reason as well. Youth plays a part in it. To me I think they will improve but there are plenty of second year guys in the secondary.
Also look at the difference in the halves they didn't move the ball nor score as easy once our offense did something. It's a game of momentum you need the offense to move the momentum in today's game.
It's a team game. Now that we have an offense, I will defer comment for another game or two.
youre right. henne going 3 an out almost every series should not be blamed at all. what are these silly people thinking
as for the defense, linebackers being horrible in coverage and not being able to run fit is the main issue. along with being on the field way too much

And if the defense can't tackle or stop a TE or a simple 8 yard pass play, who are you going to blame next? You ready to hang Blake out to dry over that already?

It's a combination of things
1. Poor fundamentals- Bad Tackling, poor angles, no pass rush, mental mistakes
2. Poor Play Calling- Defense too soft, bad play calling on key downs
3. Poor Coaching- This defense seems unprepared and uninspired. They are whipping post.

or
You have the idiotic apologist who look for every excuse under the sun to excuse the poor level of play for this team.

The D on the field too much?
The Colts scored on the first six possessions. Guess they were wore out from warm ups.
Three games. My calculator starts to smoke when I add up points given up in those games.
Looks like it is the lack of a pass rush. You cant ask your corners and secondary to cover guys for 5 seconds. In fact the amount of time opposing QB's wait to throw the ball tells me coverage is good. If you cant pressure the QB with 4 rushers send some help.
Getting some first downs and points of our own should reduce the amount of yards and points the defense give up.
Go BB
Well if the offense didnt go 3 and out every time maybe the defense wouldnt look so bad, now that Bortles is in that should change

I can tell when a team plays like they don't care. The haven't cared. I'm hoping they choose to play with faith again.

Meh. They are a good offense. It's what we aspire to be. They scored a field goal on their opening drive. Then we went three and out. They went out and worked it. Then we went three and out. Repeat ad nauseum until halftime.
I think they had sonetiing like 78 plays last week.
I think they will only get better now that the offense can sustain a drive.

And which NFL franchise employs you again? And do your bosses know that you have signed off with players pinning their personal performance to that of another player? How does that work when they sign their contracts?
