Quote:Irish radio said he went into an Alaskan airport a few months ago and told officials the government was controlling his mind.

Quote:The problem with this story is that although you can transport your weapon on a flight, you CANNOT transport your ammunition. So where did he get the ammo?I have been asking that question since this story broke. Been busy today but has any news agency brought this up?
Quote:The problem with this story is that although you can transport your weapon on a flight, you CANNOT transport your ammunition. So where did he get the ammo?Have you seen some of the schleps working for the TSA these days? It's pretty bad. Not as bad as it was 16 years ago. I worked at Dulles airport in DC then, and literally 90% of the screeners then were muslim. Tough to figure out how those terrorists got onto those planes. I'm frankly surprised they didn't have more than box-cutters for weaponry.

Quote:Ammunition
Ammunition is prohibited in carry-on baggage, but may be transported in checked baggage.
Firearm magazines and ammunition clips, whether loaded or empty, must be securely boxed or included within a hard-sided case containing an unloaded firearm. Read the requirements governing the transport of ammunition in checked baggage as defined by 49 CFR 175.10 (a)(8).
Small arms ammunition, including ammunition not exceeding .75 caliber and shotgun shells of any gauge, may be carried in the same hard-sided case as the firearm.

Quote:Not sure anything related to flying with a firearm and ammo gets changed or needs to be. What's to stop anyone from walking into the airport with a loaded weapon? This wasn't in the gate area behind TSA security checks. Sick people will find a way no matter the rules.
