W/o saying, the start of the 2017 regular seasons is eons away. But as a read, here's GIl Brandt's take at present about the chances of the eight 4th place teams from the 2016 season to win their respective divisions in the 2017 season:

2) Jacksonville Jaguars (AFC South)
Jacksonville has young talent, especially on its sixth-ranked defense, and the fourth overall pick in the 2017
NFL Draft. The Jags are also in the eminently winnable AFC South. Will they hire a coach who can pull the right strings with
Blake Bortles? I feel optimistic about the young quarterback heading into next season, despite his struggles in 2016, because of my knowledge of him personally. While he obviously has to cut down on picks, he's a guy who works and has ability, arm strength and smarts. The
Jaguars would be well-served to bring back offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in some capacity.
The offseason hype train getting started SUPER early whew
cant wait to not live up to this one either.

Hey now, the Gus era is over. We may actually have a shot to live up to them
Well the D is going to be really good next season. The Offense is the big question. As of right now, there are only 4 offensive players who will certainly be here in 2018
Brandon Linder
Kelvin Beachum
Marquis Lee
Alan Robinson
Will Bortles step up?
Will the rest of line improve?
Are Ivory and Yeldon the answer at running back?
que the "The Jaguars will be scary good this year"
It's a good tune, heard it many times.
Call me crazy, I'd prefer if everyone else just kind of forgot we exist until immediately after we beat their team.
I want to go back under the radar...
It's not even the dead zone yet! This is how the NFL gets a bit oversaturated by playing what if games all year round. Wait till before training camp for this stuff.
Gonna need to see it on the field consistently in regular season games before I get on board. That hype train has gone off a cliff too many times for me.
This has been a thing for three years straight now, not going to pay much attention/care tbh until we prove it.
I do think it's more likely than either of the past two years though. Getting Gus out of here is going to help tremendously towards getting this turned around.
Like we never heard this before. Im done buying into the offseason hype.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there are multiple articles like this one the first week or two of the FA period in March.
Let's win more than 5 games in a season before we start the mutual mass debating session on how good we are.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are the "Off-season Team" of the decade.
Double UUUUUUU's .............that's the only thing that will convince me. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 10 times, shame on me.
I think we will win more games by default. I do not see the division title in the future next year, but it happens to someone unexpected every year.

Smart man. But I prefer to drink the kool-aid. It's a lot more fun than getting all depressed about how we suck.
It's possible, given all the factors mentioned but the same things were mostly true for this year and we saw what happened.

I believe nothing until I see this team walk off the field victorious Week 1 next year.
Not magazines, blogs, newspapers, training camp or preseason games. Show me on Sunday.. when it counts.
