I was just wondering the same exact thing. How can they say the best man will play and then not stand true to that.

If that was the case we wouldn't have been blown out the last two games.

Gus is feeling the heat today, no doubt. 

Or center for that matter.  Didn't McClendon get the nod because Bowanko hadn't worked much with Henne?  I hope I'm wrong on that account

Why is everyone so surprised that Bortles isn't playing? Everyone knows he's the best QB on the roster. We knew that the moment Goodell said his name in May. Dave and Gus have been adamant about protecting him from the get go. I mean, you can get mad that they're not playing him, but saying you're surprised isn't even valid. I don't see the kid being Gabbert, and this is a different situation than Gabbert. He wasn't ready, but Del Rio was coaching for his job, and he really screwed the pooch with the way he handled Gabbert. Bortles has better pocket presence than Gabbert ever did, so start the kid... Let him run for his life. I think he can hack it.

 

But, please...don't say you're surprised he hasn't played yet.

Our best guys are playing.  Scobee and Anger.

I think the Jags are just using the Redskins strategy; sit your best guy and wait for the starter to bust his leg.

The problem is Henne is pretty tough physically and mentally. This guy takes a beating and keeps on ticking.

Because they think you're wrong about who the best guy is right now.

Bortles will be playing soon enough simply by default.  No starting QB can continue to take the hits Henne is absorbing.  The right side of the line would be upgraded with two traffic cones.  Bob's Barricades anyone?

We were not blown out in Philadellphia. The Eagles made halftime adjustments after getting killed the whole first half.

 

Of course, if the best guy is injured, he can't play. Jonathan Cyprien is the best guy at his position. So the statement only refers to healthy players.

Scobee missed two field goals in Philly. How is he better than the defensive linemen who sacked Nick Foles and recovered three fumbles?

Then they're wrong.  There is no justifiable way to say that Chad Henne is better than Blake.  Not one.

Nope but a 4th grader could tell you which gives you the better chance to win and let me tell you it's not Chad Henne.

 

What has Chad done in his 7 year career that gives the team the impression he gives them the best chance to win?  Please explain that to me.  What has he done to give them this faith in him?  He should have never been the starter and he's proving it on the field.

Chad Henne sucks. It's very sad to say that he is our QB in Jacksonville... If someone asked me who our QB was, I would feel embarrassed about telling them it is Chad Henne. He hasn't done anything but lose his entire career, and he's continuing that legacy on the field. It's a shame that so many teams have their franchise QB's and we're still rollin with Henne, while our franchise QB is on the bench..

 

And it shocks me that people are completely numb to the fact that he actually is the QB and don't care who actually plays... We've had a bad QB ever since Garrard left, and that was a long long time ago.
