Quote:EricC, the problem is that you are living by the idea that it's your way or the high way. Anyone that doesn't agree with your ideas is anti-liberty or has flawed logic. You know how annoying it is when people like Oklahomie live on the far left and cling to it so tightly they refuse to believe people who disagree have souls? Well, you are starting to sound like that. Posters like that become caricatures of themselves when they could tone it down a bit and support their cause tenfold more.
I pointed out JFC hypocrisy, he was the biggest Anti-Militarized police with me in the other thread. Then he comes on here to preach the TSA, HS, and NSA are all justified to protect us. You can't have it both ways if that makes me a caricature so be it.
Quote:First of all, I don't lean left whatsoever and if you took time to read my posting you would know that. Bringing up examples like the NAACP isn't going to help your cause in this discussion with me so nice attempt at a failed red herring.
Second of all, what I'm saying is that I don't believe people should be denied service because of their skin color. This isn't the 60s. You may agree with this sign, but I think they are destructive to society moving forward.

I wasn't replying to all of your posts, just that specific one. Do I think signs like that are right? No. Would I go to an establishment that a sign like that? No. Do I believe that a business owner has the right to serve whomever they wish inside their establishment, I absolutely do. If they have that policy and stay in business, good for them. Who am I to tell them whom they have to include?
In my eyes, organizations listed above are the same as that sign yet, you are ok with them. Seems hypocritical.
Quote:Just for clarification, are you implying that the victims on the 9/11 planes were cowards and didn't "have a set" because they did not get combative with armed terrorists?
Again.... I'm going to ask you if you are serious in hopes that you are not. Are you serious?
No, again, I don't want to further derail this thread with what I think happened that day but, if you are willing to put up with all the bull at the airport that hasn't stopped one single terrorist I guess your idea of freedom and mine are different.

1. So we agree that those signs are terrible, but only one of us thinks society would be better without them?
2. Who said I said I was okay with the organizations listed above? Putting words in my mouth to try and prove a point? Pathetic.
3.Your direct quote was:
"
Where does the responsibility of the other 300 + people on the plane come in. Grow a set and take them on." You are implying that victims of the 9/11 plane passengers did not "have a set" because they didn't "take on" armed terrorists. That is one of the sickest takes I've read and I'm astonished and embarrassed you are sticking by it.

Traditionally the correct response to hijacking was to sit, wait and eventually you'll be let go. I dont belive any one will ever do that again now that the scum are suicidal. The correct resposnse now is to mob anyone even talking about hijacking your plane. It isnt right to judge those who were killed in hindsight of how the world was pre-9/11.
Quote:So if the ends justify the means?
You could make the same argument for a militarized police force, either you believe in liberty or you don't. Liberty isn't a part time practice.
A "militarized" police force is responsible for policing their local jurisdiction. They dont have the same investigative, policing authority as HS, FBI, or TSA.
And what the hell are you talking about either I believe in Liberty or not? Do you want Domestic and International terrorists to have equal rights?

I don't want the fear of "terrorist" being used to trump individual liberty and freedom. That's the compromise programs like the TSA, NSA, and Homeland require from you.

Im curious as to why you think im a hypocrite when it comes to comparing local police vs National Security?
Your views are not radical, they are straight out supporting terrorist having every right to cause harm to the citizens of this country.

Man what the hell are you on?
Its a reason why we haven't had a terrorist attack since 9/11 on a catastrophic level.
If you surf the internet trying to find out how to make a bomb, or frequent terror group websites, guess what, HS has every right to track what you and other people doing the same thing.

You must be anti-liberty!!
Because, you know, there are only people with the exact views of little Eric and everyone else has flawed logic.

I've never said that but if you want to make it about me I guess you can ignore the subject?

Supporting terrorist? You want the same people that literally created alqeada and ISIS to protect you from them the only thing it'll cost is your privacy and liberty and I'm the one supporting terrorist?

And what about all those years before 9/11?
All they data and tech didn't stop the boston bombings? Guess we haven't given up enough privacy up, bring on the cameras America! Land of the free right?

I'm not judging anyone, if you read what I wrote, you'll see it our Michigan friend putting words in my mouth.

Yup, and now we descend into insults....typical.

How about the fact that congress has been briefed to the fact that there was a stand down ordered and the government allowed it to happen. What good does any of the surveillance do if they do nothing, or worse, are involved in it.

As far as they are concerned we are a bigger threat than the illegals and terrorists. They sure don't mind taking over $30k of my money every year.
Quote:You sure did.
I said YOUR logic on civil rights is flawed

I feel much better about myself "insulting" posters on a message board than you should for insulting 9/11 victims for not "growing a pair" and confronting armed terrorists. Stay classy.
Quote:I said YOUR logic on civil rights is flawed
Because it doesn't jive with your opinions. Either I am for liberty or I'm against it. Liberty isn't a part time practice. I am not allowed to believe that restaurants banning blacks is immoral and unjust and still believe in liberty. It's Eric's libertarian way or the highway!

I haven't even discussed civil rights with you.
You can believe whatever you want Im simply pointing out the moment you require government to complete x task you've compromised liberty.
You've gone back to my discussion with JFC a few times where I was specifically debating his different stance on the role of government at the local and federal level. Complaining about big militarized police forces while supporting big militarized domestic surveillance is contradictory.
Dude, really...as flsprtsgod so eloquently put below...

On that day, no hijackings up until that time were either politically motivated or was someone looking for a ransom of some sort. They were landed and set free.
Now we know the psychos will just as likely kill you anyway, yes, In present day America, you damn right I'm telling you that you should grow a pair. Get some of the other passengers to beat their behinds with baggage and coffee pots. They had BOX CUTTERS supposedly. Ohhhh my so scary.
You're mixing your posters and arguments....been drinking bud?

Your lack of respect for the victims of 9/11 continues to amaze me. "They had BOX CUTTERS supposedly. Ohhhh my so scary.". Are you 14 years old or something? This type of disrespect coming from an adult would be utterly embarrassing.
