I'm done arguing...You know what the 9/11 terror produced. My Afternoon.

My 60 something year old father was admitted to Shands downtown..

I get there, almost outrunning the friggin monsoon, didn't quite do it...got a crappy umbrella and trying to carry my mom in food. Soaking wet and irritated at the lack of parking I walk in the front door.

What's there to greet me? Security, metal detector, wands, etc. Had to empty my soaking wet pockets, had $8.50/hr security guy rifle through my laptop bag that I had put the food in to keep it dry and somewhat warm. I knew I couldn't take a weapon in so I left it in the truck...more on that later...

So I'm already anxious about the fact that my Dad is there, I'm irritated at the weather/parking/security but, I keep it together...go to the info desk find out where he is and get my "sticker" for the area I'm allowed to be in. The lady says go out take a right, and the next guard will tell you where to go. So, ok, cool...

I get to rent a cop #2, still dripping wet from being outside and just walked through security once. THEY MAKE ME DO IT AGAIN. I almost lost my damn mind.

All this to keep someone from poppin' a cap in someone in the hospital hypothetically? When is the last time someone was shot INSIDE of Shands? The last terrorist attack?

What really chapped me was leaving. So, I left my weapon in the truck, because law abiding people know they cannot carry in there...

So as I was escorting my Mother to her car, we were approached multiple times by bums. Luckily none of them pulled anything but, an armed robber could sit in that parking lot and lie in wait, knowing everyone walking out of that place without a holster on their hip is unarmed.

Again, those that would sacrifice liberty for an ounce of security, deserve neither liberty nor security...I'll leave y'all with it.
