Might be an issue with the my MB settings. Other sites seem to be fine.

I'm not terribly savvy with certain things behind the keyboard/mouse.  This is probably a very easy fix - and I probably inadvertently changed a setting to cause it.

Annnnnyway.....  I can't click on a number of things on the forum  without command/clicking and opening the clickable content in a new tab or window.  Other sites working. Is there a control panel of sorts for the forum in which I have something set incorrectly?

what did I disable?   Any help appreciated.

(OSX 10.8.5  Safari and Chrome have same issue)

Not to sound sarcastic, but have you tried Googling it?   I found the meaning of life that way!  But I forgot to bookmark the website and now can't find it anymore.   Sad

I did.  Didn't find the answer for my specific problem.

I'm finding some adware now lurking about -- might have something to do with it....

Ever run malwarebytes?  It's free and works very well at getting rid of adware.

Can you be more specific? What are you clicking on that doesn't work, and what is working ok?

Quote button, Notifications button and sometimes the Add Reply button.

If I control click I can open the button/link in a new tab and continue.

I'm thinking it's the adware now because I'm seeing highlights in text and numbers on the forum and when I hover it's an ad  Sad

Hahahahahahaha.

Thanks, Dakota.

Unlike the trendy kids, I began using Apple computers circa 1996 for good reason.  I'm in the music biz and all of the early recording, editing and mastering softwares were designed and beta tested on mac back then.

Running them on PCs meant constant issues when updates wouldn't work with different PC windows versions and soundcard combinations.  Running them on the uniform OS, motherboard, sound card combo they were designed on meant smooooooth sailing.

So there  - I do have a reason to be a "mac guy."  But it's rapidly becoming a non issue.  I may convert when this one goes south.

Yep, PCs just haven't caught up with Macs when it comes to multimedia.  My son does a lot of video production and much prefers an Apple.  The thing is, when Apples go kaput, they go $kaput$.

I think you're right about adware. What shows in the bottom left hand corner of your browser window when to hover your mouse pointer over a link?
AVG has some free antivirus software through the Mac App Store. I'm not sure it will solve your problem, but it's worth a shot.

When I hover over one of the adware links that are appearing - nothing shows in lower status bar.

When I hover over normal links or buttons - the normal stuff appears in status bar.

That sounds like some sort of malware/adware. I just searched around and Bitdefender apparently has a mac version for adware removal.

I use Bitdefender on my PC. They have a free adware removal program.
