Gerhart is overrated. Denard is more explosive and dynamic.

So you didn't expect the Jags to play the way they did for the whole game?

Gerhart is not even remotely the problem.

The Dolphins Oline was thrown in the trash last year after/during the Martin Igconito fiasco. They also lost their best offensive lineman Mike Pouncey to injury to start the season off. Not a good situation for a rebuilt offensive line to face one of the best NT in the game inVince Wilfork.. Then you add Darrelle Revis to the backfield, and you would think the Dolphins were going to be a doormat win for the Patriots today.
How is it we have so much cap space, and Knowshon Moreno has a 134 yard – 5.6 ypc day behind an offensive line that was rebuilt in just one off season? Since last season the Dolphins Oline went from bad to good enough to beat one of the best teams in the NFL. I know we tried to get Alex Mack. It just seems like we gave up on fixing our offensive line after we were not able to get him from Cleveland.
/rant - almost
We know/knew the positions we needed to fix, the Dolphins knew the positions they needed to fix. We had enough cap space to sign players like Branden Albert, so why didn't we even try? Players like Samson Satele was free for the Dolphins.
/OT rant – I just hate that we know what we need and we still don't seem to address it like we should.
Some days it hurts to be a Jaguars fan. I will be fine in a couple days like always.

We has plenty of chances to get better players on the OL and just got Beetles(who knows with him). You go into a season with rookies and 2nd year players what do you expect. Nothing!!!

Quote:Gerhart is overrated. Denard is more explosive and dynamic.Have to agree. Gerhart is just a short yardage, goal line back. He doesn't have that home run ability like MJD in his prime.

Quote:Gerhart didn't show me anything, nor did any running back. OTOH, Jones-Drew got a massive 11 yards on 19 carries.

Not even Denard? He made some of the best runs of the team... Then they pulled him. I don't understand why... Other than Fisch can't seem to manage a game...
Honestly, I was excited to see Shoelace get in and start looking dangerous right away. Then poof. He's gone... It was weird...

play calling is fine. Chad cant convert on 3rd. Never has shown the ability to do so.

The limited talent we have, earned us the 17-0 lead. The lack of depth and talent lost the game. We are young and without leadership on the field, get used to more losses.

That's not the way of a champion. Also, I'm disappointing with Gus. The right call is to start BB. Those 2 things (or lack of) are major contributors to why we loss today.

IF limited talent is our problem then that falls back on Gus and Dave. Not fact checking, but if there are 39 new players on this roster then there are 39 players Gus and Dave selected. If they selected "limited talent" then that falls back on them. Additionally, of the players they kept from 2012, they must have deemed worthy of keeping, even if they had "limited talent."
The talent on this team is a result of 2 drafts and 2 off seasons and 2 training camps.

What I took away from the loss.
Pros: were the defense is getting better, Hurns was a great pick up and a nice surprise at WR . Our Rookies at WR really didn't do to bad for their first game.
Cons:O-line needs work, Play calling when we are in the lead needs to be more aggressive at least till it's out of reach. 3rd downs are killing us.
All and all it was not the worst game the team does look better in most areas and all things considered I think they can have a good season this year this game was just hard for most people cause we looked good all the way to the half then had a melt down on offense.

Winning this game could have really set the tone for the rest of the season, but now it's back to clawing for a win.
Hopefully washington will be nicer next week

Play calling is fine? LOL...
The play calling was great for the first 23 minutes or so. Then the play calling was not so fine the rest of the way, pretty much.
Yes, Henne is not great. We all know that. But Henne being bad doesn't exclude other facets of the team that need to get better.

Henne's the one who chooses who to throw to; it just so happens he loves checking it down. I'd expect the playcalling to magically improve when Bortles starts.

The play calling was horrid. Ive never seen so many predictable plays since well, JDR adminstration. Lets not fall back into that groove Jags. I swear, after we got the lead, we played not to lose. You always play to win.
And Gerhart might not be a homerun back but he is a bruiser and yes he needs holes to run through. We have not picked up any other veteran OL since cuts. And I'll tell you one thing, our C hurt us bad yesterday. He was lost a couple of times when Henne was calling out assignments and his snaps were off.
Henne is Henne. You cant tell me that you didnt know he was bad. He is a turnover waiting to happen. He is Miami's wasted draft pick and their garbage. One man's trash is another man's treasure, but others times its another man's trash too.
DRob looked good but I believe the thinking was to put the experienced speed back out there to hold the lead. Once again, to play not to lose. Horrible coaching on Fisch's part. You have to call plays to keep your O on the field and keep you D rested. Throwing on first down, WITH HENNE, is not how you keep your O on the field. Horrible o-coordinator skills.

Gerhart in the backfield - stack the box. I think the Eagles DC had the easiest job in the world during the second half yesterday.
Someone made the comment yesterday that they believed whenever Fisch tried to change things up, Henne did not respond well. Thus, his conservative, and predictable, play calling. I believe that theory is closer to the truth than most. Between a bad O line and a one dimensional QB, there is no fitness regime that can prepare a defense to play well after so many 3-and-outs.
Two-step Plan of Action:
1) Beef up the offensive line
2) Get BB starting
Then every ting
Gonna be alright
