Quote:Gerhart in the backfield - stack the box. I think the Eagles DC had the easiest job in the world during the second half yesterday.

Someone made the comment yesterday that they believed whenever Fisch tried to change things up, Henne did not respond well. Thus, his conservative, and predictable, play calling. I believe that theory is closer to the truth than most. Between a bad O line and a one dimensional QB, there is no fitness regime that can prepare a defense to play well after so many 3-and-outs.

Two-step Plan of Action:

1) Beef up the offensive line

2) Get BB starting

Then every ting

Gonna be alright
I will admit, I would like Bortles starting but this line is so garbage. I dont want him to get Carr/Smith/Gabbert syndrome.

Quote:IF limited talent is our problem then that falls back on Gus and Dave. Not fact checking, but if there are 39 new players on this roster then there are 39 players Gus and Dave selected. If they selected "limited talent" then that falls back on them. Additionally, of the players they kept from 2012, they must have deemed worthy of keeping, even if they had "limited talent."

The talent on this team is a result of 2 drafts and 2 off seasons and 2 training camps.

Precisely. They're digging their own grave.

Not sure if they think a 5 year rebuild is the way to go, but why should we continue to trust their decisions?
Quote:Ok, so we blew a 17 point lead to lose the game to Philly. But instead of taking a "fan" perspective to the loss, I'm going to take a football approach to this loss.

  1. Play calling: It was terrible, especially with the lead. You have to put your foot on the gas and press down hard till the game is out of reach.
  2. O-line: For the dummies that say that Gerhart is bad, did you see any holes being made by the o-line? The pass protection was average at best and you feel sick watching them running into each other.
  3.  Henne: He is who he is. Really?
  4.  Bortles: He is not going to play. Why do you people keep calling for him? Do you really want to put him behind this line and get him hurt and lose him until next year anyways? Did you see the hits Henne took?
  5.  Defense was gassed: They played well in the first half by slowing down Philly but is you let McCoy get going, he is going to get going. Our offensive play calling didn't allow our D to get rest or catch their breath.
  6.  Injuries. Cyp was gone and Evans, and we were down to Prosinksi. Poz was hurt as well but still played well.

Seriously, we played a good game in the first half but got outplayed in the second half. Dont jump off the building yet. Its only week 1.

When Jonathan Cyprien hit his head for a split second there I thought he might have died on the field.  Then i was like nah he just got knocked out, but then it went back to well maybe he did die?

Scary moment in the game, and his presence (not being there) was felt as the Defense started to fall apart...

I think that single injury was a turning point in the game.  It left a huge void in an already weak DB field, and that combined with Chad Henne not being able to take the pressure in the 2nd half & being out coached...

Sigh.. as great of a team effort the 1st half was a success it was a team effort in the failure as well...

^^This^^

It was scary to see that. I saw when he layed out on the field and I was like it was kind of a celebration for breaking up a pass but then he was still laying there. I thought the worse too until I saw his foot barely move. Then I was like thank God. He was just laying there looking lifeless for a hot min. I hope all is well with him.

On another note, we might need to sign a Champ Bailey to play safety.
