Quote:Well, more talented, IMO, yes.

THat doesn't mean I don't want Shorts to do well.

Its better for the Jags in all facets for Shorts to do well and remain healthy. More options.

If Shorts is on the field, then Hurns isn't unless we are running 4 WR sets.... which I haven't seen too much of

Shorts out?  Well the more talented guy sees the field.  This is a good thing.

Quote:I find it unusual the fixation on Shorts, when Robinson has had the same problem this preseason.

Maybe it's because you can soil your Shorts, but not your Robinson?

It's because there is a pattern.  If Robinson has it happen every year, you'll hear it for him too.
Quote:O'Halloran just said on Jaguars Today that Hurns is probably #50 on the 53 man roster.  He's elite.

There's an over exuberance to crown rookies as stud's this year.  Probably has something to do with being talent starved for so very long.

Yet he's considered the WR3? (even before Shorts' latest injury)....

Yeah, somethings wrong with O Halloran's math. Unless of course the WR's following Hurns are 2 of the last 51, 52 or 53.

I'd like to hear more context to this.  As is, i don't buy it for a second.

How would he get this info anyway, i've never heard of teams ranking all their players regardless of position.

Edit:  Pet peeve, there vs. their

Yep, I agree. I don't buy it either.

Seriously, think about some of the depth players.  No freakin way.

You'd have to ask him that question.  His job is to cover the team.  He has more access than anyone on this board.  I'm pretty sure he wouldn't just pluck that number out of thin air.

Of course you don't buy it.  It would ding your little agenda.

I'm not saying he plucked it out of thin air, i'm saying i'd like to hear more context.

Reading comprehension, slow down, think, stop posting so fast.  Do you have time to eat? Or sleep?  Geeesh.

We won't even be able to trade him at this rate.
I have to say I am starting to come round to tmd's way of thinking with regards to shorts

in my head he has always been a solid wr2 with the potential to be a high level wide receiver two which to me is worth keeping however these consistent niggling injuries can't be ignored

i believe hurns robinson and lee all have that sort of potential which makes me feel though we should not trade shorts we should not be giving him the big money deal he would likely desire.

that being said he can be injured as much as he likes in the preseason if he was healthy in the regular season i don't think he would have an issue reaching a thousands yards

to me that is the milestone he has to break to get a contract from us

The problem for me is it's not a black and white, trade him or keep him.  If some team throws a 1st for him, which won't happen, obviously you trade him.  A 7th?  Keep him.  I'm not on board with the constant push to get him out of here at all costs.  If the value makes since, sure.  For all we know there could be zero market for him.  Kinda silly too harp on it constantly.

'Thin air' is not where he plucked it from.

I don't buy it either. Hurns was the one WR who was consistently getting open and catching everything thrown his way. And a lot of that was against the opposing 1s.

O'Halloran has been known to put his foot in his mouth.  He doesn't know much more than anyone else IMO.

I remember him being pretty adamant about no QB in round 1, and thought the most likely thing was Sammy at #3 and Mettenberger in the 2nd round.

He's been wrong many times, so his rankings literally don't mean a thing to anyone.

In terms of him reporting what exactly someone said, sure.. that's what his job is.

But trying to predict things or infer certain things is a complete quessing game for O'Halloran (and everyone else).

Exactly.
The most productive person on offense besides Bortles in the preseason is ranked 50th on a 53 man roster is one of the dumbest football things I've ever heard. Dont care who said it.
Quote:<p style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">"He went out there and they ran him a little bit to get a feel for where he's at and then brought it to my attention they were going to hold him out," coach Gus Bradley said after practice.

<p style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Said Shorts: "It's about the same as it was yesterday. It's a little tight. It doesn't feel like it's pulling or anything like that. I don't think it's anything serious, but we'll take it day to day. ... If I feel good, I'm playing. If I have a choice, I'm going to go. Right now, my mindset is, 'I'm playing.'"

Caring about it is even dumber.

Chill out thunderthighs.

Commenting on what someboby outside yourself cares about is pretty dumb in itself. But some low level geeks protected behind computer screens can't help themselves. All opinions at the end of the day.
