Quote:I don't know how to take that..

That's because Teal Time Radio didn't provide the context of why Myles Jack said that. He said he was glad he didn't play MLB this year because that would've meant that Poz got hurt.
Quote:QB competition will happen, but most likely through the draft. I dont see many FA QB's wanting to come here. Romo? Thats a risk, Guroppalo? Your trading your entire draft for an unproven player. Best scenario is drafting a QB early, seeing how it plays out. Blake will be your starting QB next season, but if he struggles, you play the guy you drafted. Who knows, theres so many scenarios, but the one logical solution is giving Bortles a chance to redeem himself but brining competition that will make him play harder. Worst case scenario, if Bortles pans out, you can trade that backup for double his value.

I kind of agree with Lageman.  Draft a qb in the middle rounds every year until you hit on one.
Quote:Chad should have been gone... But yeah cut Chad first, then Special team coach, then Alualu, hell I'd even cut Poz to make a statement..
Why do so many guys hate on Alualu?  He's quality depth.
Quote:I believe regardless of who it ends up being.  Sides getting the staff in place.  The one thing I hope he does is cut Chad Henne.   To me, That says two things.

One, Injured or not.  Blake will not skate through another year. Cause tells blake,  Ut oh!  Someone else is coming here.

And Two if Blake does not take this seriously that new qb.  Can replace him. And take his job.  And brings real qb competition.

And Blake would end up the back up,  Thoughts?

What would you like done to make a statement?

I would start Teal Time Radio up with some Hooked on Phonics and from there maybe move up to 5th and 6th grade level English.

stuck on draft position

... which would be quite fine if he were drafted high in the 4th round; not 9th overall (ahead of Earl Thomas, Jason Pierre Paul, and Maurkice Pouncey) .... all 3 positions in which we struggled over most of the past 5 years.

And so you cut a productive player in spite because you're still pissed at his draft position??  Genius!

You keep the players who can play.  You cut the scrubs who can't or who are over-priced for their production.
What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Nothing wrong with that, except you are using a mid round pick that you could use on another position.   Last year, we could have used a 3rd round pick on a QB, and not gotten Yannick Ngakoue.  In 2014, we could have used a 3rd round pick on a QB instead of drafting Brandon Linder.   What I am saying is, there is a cost associated with just throwing draft picks at a particular position.

So why don't we just pretend he was drafted in the 4th round, and then we can all be deliriously happy with the guy.

What the heck are you talking about ......

You asked  "Why do so many guys hate on Alualu?  He's quality depth."

I simply responded to your question.  I never stated anything related to cutting Alualu.

See my comment in the prior post ....

Ok, my bad.  I understood you to be advocating for the Alualu haters when you were answering without commentary.
Alualu is not quality depth. He doesn't do anything. We picked up Abry Jones off the scrap heap and he is wayyyyy better than Alualu. We can cut the bum and sign a UDFA for the minimum and save money, plus wash away the gene smith stink from the franchise once and for all. It's a no brainer.

As for what the new coach should do, he should identify all the tr@sh in our starting lineup, ie Cyprien, Gipson, Bortles, and demote them to 4th string. Make them earn their spot back. And if they can't win their job, cut them and let them stink it up for some other unfortunate team.
Alualu is a solid football player.  He could be on many other rosters in the league.  But enjoy your inner cloud of negativity.

I still don't understand why the depth, rotational guy who costs very little on a team with a metric TON of cap room, who plays multiple positions and fills multiple roles is even in the conversation of being cut.

Oh yeah...  because some fans are still obsessed with the "stink" of a GM who was fired FOUR YEARS AGO.

Move on, man.  Alualu doesn't even register on the list of things to be worried about w/ the Jags right now.

I think the new HC starting the first team meeting off like this would be appropriate...

The thing to prove he means business? Obviously pick out the biggest toughest looking guy in the common area or cafeteria and pound the crap out of him.
I think he should threaten to trade any player who isn't here to win to the Browns that should straighten them out.
Quote:Oh yeah...the one where we won 38-17.
so if you cut Henne, your cutting our only good win of the year! Can't risk it, extend him!
