Which state has the best beer?
Washington, D.C. has the monuments and California has great beaches, and according to
Thrillist.com, Oregon has the best beer.

Wait miller light is sold every where right?
None in this country. I miss living in Germany for the beer, brats and bread. Now I drink Guinness Extra Stout. My husband says my beer is my meal. Lol.

You can find great beer anywhere but it's all great in Oregon.

My local country store sells great Miller Light!
One of the few perks of living in Oregon. Rogue, Widmer, Dechutes, Laurelwood, etc
I just hit up the Rogue garage sale and got a case of 22's for $2 a pop. Success!

Not true. Many European countries have American micro breweries growing there. German beers are great, but are hindered by their purity law...no extra ingredients. Yet still great. Same with Belgian beer.
State wise?
Oregon.
Colorado. With apologies for Coors (it's ok, we don't even like the crap out here), there are too many breweries to keep track of in this state, and--here's a novel concept--none of them suck! Echo Brewery makes some of the best beer you've never heard of, and those of you on the east coast who only get Dale's Pale Ale in a can from Oskar Blues, well, you don't know what you're missing. Nitrogen-tapped Old Chub is beervana.
We got some pretty good brews in Maryland too from the Flying Dog Brewery located right in my hometown

So yeah, it’s a little odd that Maryland’s most prominent craft outfit (Flying Dog), is a Colorado transplant, but the fact remains that the vast majority of the brewery's tasty beer comes out of the Old Line State these days. They’re far from the only game in town, however. Stillwater is doing some seriously impressive work, like a damn-near-perfect Gose collab with Westbrook. Of course, old habits die hard, so the state still consumes plenty of Natty Boh, too.

Germany isn't hindered by their purity law, it just limits what you can legally call beer.

I heard Mass. has some great local breweries, but PA would probably be at the top of my list having the oldest brewery and so many top beers made from the state. I think a rising star is Virginia.

Ok Thanks. So...if a "beer" is made with more than whats in the purity law..what do they call it. Like Radler? Is it called that because its infused with fruit? Or is that a brand name? What if they add stuff like elderberries, juniper, chocolate? Do they have to all have a different name? Like Das ist nicht bier,das ist scheisser? :no:

I'd give a nod to Massachusetts but OR and VT are clearly better.
I went with Jags02 some time ago to a beer festival in Portland, OR (we didn't know each other, just from the message board, but both wore Jags shirts and hung out for the day). The variety and quantity of beers was astonishing and this was probably 8-9 years ago
