I'd be interested in the message boards thoughts on the Bold City Brigade.

They're enthusiastic.

They seem to have fun and do a good job supporting the team.

A bit exclusionary for my taste.

As a long distance fan I love what the BCB is doing.

it's Alfie and his group of hipsters could care less what they do.

Thats not the BCB, I thought....

Alfie is involved with other things....like playing reporter.

No. That is his crew. The hipster posse. A group full of fatties in flat bill hats drinking craft beer.

I respect their support for the team. But not my cup of tea.

bold city brigade is a thing Alfie and his hipster group started, it's a cool concept and they've done some cool stuff. I've just had enough encounters with Alfie to know it's not my thing.

some cool people are a part of it as well, don't get me wrong, just not for me.
I'm an out of town member trying to get a chapter started here in VA. For me, it's really more about just having a group of fans that can get together to go watch a game than anything else.

LOL, I still can't believe flat bill/ brim hats are seen as in style by younger people. A few years back you'd look at a kid wearing a flat brim hat and think he might be, um.....special......and he/ she usually was.

Caps look better with a curvature to the bill/ brim.

Wait, so Alfie was part of starting that group that went up to NYC and invaded the draft??

Ugh, takes some of the bloom of that rose....

That's awesome.

The concept of the group is great.

Like EricC85, the interactions I have had with those in that group have not been great.

Yea they've done some really cool stuff no denying it's the biggest group in the fan base. And the out of state guys really get a chance to connect so it's good on many levels. Just Alfie ruins it for me.
I like their enthusiasm and support for the team, but the club/group/fraternity thing is not my kind of thing.

This seems to be a theme. lol

This is the part of the group I love, and I think originally this may have been the intended role....I just think its become wierdly cliqueish.

I also was a member the first year.  They ran out of t shirts when I signed up....said they would ship me one when they come in.  When I reached out that I never got it, it somehow turned into my fault.  I was put off with how it was being "run".  It became an LLC...not sure how a fan group should be considered an LLC (I dont know the specifics of an LLC) but it sort of turned me off.

You're not the first person I have heard this from.

I was a member last year. I got the shirt and it was about the most awkward fitting shirts I have seen. Definitely not something I would wear outside the house.

The people I have seen on Twitter that either ask when they will get their shirt or complain about the fit of the shirt end up getting blasted by the hipster clown crew.

I will say this about the BCB crew...if someone says something negative about the Jags or something they believe to be factually wrong, they will attack whoever said it.  It could be a guy with 10 posts on Twitter, but they will relentlessly attack him....lol

Great. Just what the Jags need...a nerd mafia!
I didn't have much for issues with Alfie when he was on the board more regularly.

However, once I got Twitter, you can see he's a whole different animal.  I don't like to judge but he's really an annoying douche when it comes to any person that says something negative to him or heaven forbid disagrees with him.

If it's not him, his lackeys certainly love to pounce.
