As I've rewatched the game concentrating on the C position, it's clear why McClendon was named the starter. Bowanko consistently gave up ground along/w being charged w/a false start. The staff is correct in their decision at the position.

I disagree. Bowanko is the future and he's really playing at a similar level to McClendon anyway (and has the higher upside) . I'd rather play Bowanko now, let him take his lumps and then start to settle in by the time Bortles takes over.

Once again, the coaches see it differently, so they must be wrong.
we take all the help we can get ,couple fumble early in the game would be nice, dont wont you guys hanging around , this is philly u no !

Don't worry.  Nobody wants to linger around that armpit any longer than is absolutely necessary. Wink

We hope to "hang around" in a lot more games this season than last.
I think that could happen with gus !

Many here are hopeful that Gus will bring this team back from the depths.  Good coach.  Good guy.

I sense a glaring contradiction between your "play him now" (Bowanko) and "sit him now" (Bortles) proclamations.

Just like QB, it's not a bad idea to bring on a rookie C slowly until he acclimates to the NFL.  Even Meester cut his teeth at G before moving to the middle.

Besides, in the near future the battle may be Linder/Bowanko and not McClendon/Bowanko for that job.
