Quote:Parcells
Parcells only won his title with Simms though, isn't that right?
... Ah, Hoss
was the starting Quarterback of that Super Bowl even though Simms started 14 games that season. Funny, I just don't consider Parcells to be in the same tier of coaches as Gibbs.

I look at Parcells as a turnaround artist. He went into some bad situations (New England, NY Jets, NY Giants) and turned them into winners. I think he is good to go in, fire everybody, hire the right people and win. I think as a coach (as in on the field X's and O's) I don't know that he is great. And he is so arrogant, he wears out his welcome fast.

And his stint in Miami didn't really go over all that well. I like how he stocked Dallas with talent, but I wonder just how much was his heart in either of those jobs.
Bradley's been here for a year. If this was Cleveland. He was on the hot seat the moment he signed his initial contract. That front office has turned into a serial killing machine of QB's and HC's over the past fifteen years.

The Miami tenure was disaster for sure. I believe he was past his prime at that point.

Fine, fine... I'll do it. I won't make you beg.

Dallas also had its best years, since the Dynasty days, under Parcells.

Being aware that this might derail the thread but Parcells
might have gotten them to another Super Bowl as well, but it seemed like he got tired of fighting Jerrah in the Front Office. Just look at the talent the man brought in starting in '03:

2003 - Terrance Newman, Jason Witten, Bradie James

2004 - no draft picks of note here. Maybe some other fans can chime in on the '04 Dallas offseason

2005 - DeMarcus Ware, Marion Barber, Chris Canty, Jay Ratliff

2006 - Bobby Carpenter, Anthony Fasano, Jason Hatcher.
That's 10 quality starters, to say the least, brought in in four years. Gene Smith couldn't have pulled off that kind of haul in four decades.

04 produced Patrick Clayton from round 7, a servicable WR for a few years
btw... your sig seems awfully familiar... where'd that come from?
You don't understand. They HOPE AND PRAY that the Jags are never successful. That means they would be obliged to COVER THEM, and we know the RATINGS are terrible whenever the Jags are mentioned, because there aren't 20 million New Yorkers hanging on every tidbit.
Love Gus, but if there isn't improvement after this season in the win column, he could easily be on the hot seat next year. I expect 6 wins, and if the team can get hot again like last season... maybe 8.
Hot seat this season though? No way.
Whelp, how times have changed.
Anyone who really believes Gus Bradley is or should be on the hot seat must read this part:
Quote:Barring the Jaguars getting their doors blown off every game in 2014 and ending up with the first overall pick, I find it hard to picture Gus Bradley being on the proverbial hot seat this season. The team may not hit the .500 mark, they might even pick in the Top 5 again, but this was a long term rebuilding process from the start. Jaguars owner Shad Khan knew and signed off on this, so any talk of Bradley being fired before his third season is utter nonsense.

Except a lot of what the first sentence in your quote has already happened/ is happening.

How so? There hasn't been anything to say that Bradley has been on the hot seat, or currently is on the hot seat. One blogger's opinion doesn't make it so, and alfie slurping all over it like it was a free chili dog doesn't make it any more true.
I am not arguing the merits of whether or not the guy should be. I am stating the obvious that he is not. Not one credible source has linked Bradley to any hot seat.
I am surprised that these two threads are up. I hate being 0-6 as much as anyone. That being said, this was a complete and utter tear down and rebuild. How much of a rebuild. we don't have a FS on the roster. LITERALLY! I like Josh evans as a third safety and someone who will be able to play strong safety at a starting level in this league but if he is your starting cenerfielder, something is wrong. Right now our LEO is a stop gap. At corner you have a stop gap journeyman and a battle between a third round pick and an undrafted free agent. Right now we have journeyman battling at will linebacker and an undrafted free agent at OTTO by default. And this is the unit that has only given up 13 points a game in the last two matchups.
On offense you have the dreaded combination of rookies at QB, WR and Center. throw in a rookie RG, an undrafted free agent at RT and a guy at LT that has less than 16 starts at the position and you get my drift.
At this point, the goal is to find guys who can be part of the core while we build for the long term through the draft over time. It sucks now, it always sucks in years 2-4. But the most important thing about this regime is that the kid looks like he can play. If the kid can play then its only a matter of time before 370 yards of offense from the QB turns into 24 points instead of 14 with less turnovers and an improving defense continues to improve. At the end of the year, I expect there to be the sentiment for everyone in the playoff hunt that @@#$^ I don't want to have to play the jaguars. Now if theres no improvement and we go back to routine blow outs then that's different, but right now the progress is most evident.
I'm sure he isn't though he should be, the team is much more talented than last season yet the result remains. I honestly am really getting tired of the positivity, getting [BLEEP] pissed off sometimes, not everything is positive and sometime players need someone to kick them in the [BLEEP]. Reminds me of Jim Whacker the old Minnesota Gopher coach(possibly the worst coach in Gopher history except maybe Brewster whom just happened to employ Fisch as is offensive co.)
