Before the season starts, test your prognostication skills. Just predict how the Jaguar Wideouts will rank based on catches and yards. (Yes, I know that can cause a discrepancy in very rare cases) Just say who you think the best will be, and work your way down.
For me:
1. Robinson - Injured now, but will be the best when it's all said and done.
2. Hurns - Guy will make the most of his chances, and will evolve as Jimmy Smith 2.0.
3. Shorts - Will have a good year, but will be allowed to walk following the season.
4. Lee - Will have a good, but underwhelming year.
5. Sanders - Has a decent year, but pays the price for the hippie lettuce.
After that, Who cares. Special teams guys who may or may not be active every week, and will be lucky to hit double digit catches and triple digit yards for the year
That's me and how I see it today. It's the fun part of waiting for the year to start.
Am I the only one who has tamed expectations for Robinson this year? I feel like with his injuries and time missed be may struggle this year. I think he has potentialy the most upside but I don't think we'll see it all this year.
I know he is a pre season star but I really do love what I have seen form Hurns. I also know we have had plenty of pre season stars forget to show up come the regular season. But....
1. Hurns, I really believe he will take the ball and run with it. He will be our secret weapon i guess youd say?
2. Shorts, He has the history of being injured and all but Im hoping he kinda turns it around like Freddy T did and just puts numbers up.
3. Sanders, Even tho he is in trouble for his off the field problems i hope when he comes back all is forgiven and we are winning.
4. Robinson, With missing most of the off season I feel like he has alot of work ahead of him.
5. Lee, I think he will have a hard time finding his groove in his rookie year.
But who knows? Its hard to really say since anything can and will happen. But as long as we are putting up numbers and staying in games(or winning games) thats all the matters.
If Henne and Bortles split the season - I could see something like this:
Shorts - 750 yards
Hurns - 700 yards
Robinson -550 yards
Lee - 400 yards
Sanders - 300 yards
Doss or Brown - 250 -yards
Too many unknowns right now though. Robinson's hamstring, Sander's undefined role and roster spot. Whether Robinson will be ready to make an impact early on. All up in the air.
1. Shorts
2. Hurns
3. Lee
4. Robinson
5. Sanders or Doss
I still see Shorts being the most productive this upcoming season. I hope Lee and Robinson stay healthy, and make plays. Because they are rookies, they will struggle to consistently produce. Hurns may be a rookie, but he plays like a veteran, and he has a comfort level with the offense that the other two don't have.
Overall though, I don't expect a 1000 yard receiver or a 10 TD season out of any of the guys. Henne is just too inconsistent.
Edit: completely forgot Ace. He showed flashes last season, but I don't expect much out of him, especially with the 4 game suspension

So Lee as a rookie will have a good year but somehow be underwhelming at the same time?
Kinda seems contradictory. A good year for rookie wide receivers is kind of rare.
Idk.
This year for me its gonna be:
Shorts - the most experienced, knows the offense, proven production, extremely versatile.
Lee - once he gets up to speed knows how to get separation and has a great penchant for getting to the ball. Given time, this guy is going to be our version of Reggie Wayne.
Robinson - if this was next year I don't think he'd be far behind Lee, but he has missed a lot of time and needs to learn the pro game. Nice red zone target for now.
Hurns - we know the hurns story. Not special in any single trait except just getting open. He looks more polished now because he already knows fisch's system. When the other receivers become as acclimated, hurns slides down to 4.
Sanders - shifty slot guy that works all routes and has excellent acceleration to work in short areas. Can get the deep pass but not often. Boom or bust type player and size puts him behind hurns.
Lee is being pretty slept on.
I'll say:
1. Lee
2. Shorts
3. Robinson
4. Hurns
5. Sanders
1. Justin Blackmon (suspended indefinitely)
2. Cecil Shorts
3. Marquis Lee
4. Allen Robinson
5. Allen Hurns
6, Ace Sanders (suspended four games)
7. Mike Brown
8. Tandon Doss (probably the PR for the first four games at least)
9. Kerry Taylor

10. Chad Bumphis (probably makes 10-man Practice Squad)
Shorts - Still the best receiver on this team, though that could change as the year goes on.
Lee - Given time, I expect him to become the #1 guy.
Robinson - He'll get off to a slow start, but could secure a big role later in the year.
Sanders - Four games for pot is ridiculous, but even with the suspension he'll return to be a key third-down guy and PR.
Hurns - The undrafted rookie sensation may well be a very good receiver someday, but for now, he's a rookie who's never seen a real snap and was passed over 256 times in May. Anyone saying he'll lead the team or even come in second has probably been hanging around Ace too much.
Brown - Special teams spare part if they keep six, off the roster if they keep five.
Doss - Makes the team as a PR during Sanders' absence, but departs promptly following the team's fourth game.
Cecil Shorts - He's a proven productive receiver. No rookie will be better.
Allen Hurns - Gets open against the starters and catches everything. No reason to expect a dropoff when the games count.
Brown - Last year's surprise. With Brown, it's more a case of being the best of the rest ... this year.
Robinson - No chance to play this preseason, and hamstring injuries can linger.
Sanders - Eventually works his way back into the rotation, but it will take some time.
Lee - I've been underwhelmed by what I've seen from him so far.
Doss - A punt returner, but I doubt he'll see much action at WR.

I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but wow....

I know.....I wouldn't put Shorts first, either....

I would. Shorts has the most expiernce and production. I'd put Hurns behind him.. Then Brown, Lee, Robinson (with the expectation that Robinson moves up to close to 1 in time).
Shorts
Robinson
Lee
Hurns
Sanders

Yes, but that's because you have an irrational hatred for players that actually produce.

Why do I get the feeling five years from now people will still be spelling Lee's name wrong? It's like "Leftwhich" all over again.
It's spelled MARQISE.
My list goes:
Shorts
Robinson
Lee
Hurns
Sanders
