Quote:Yeah, no way is that 20 yards. 10 at the most.

Its 15 at the least, you can see it.

3 increments of 5 yards each between Sanders and the rest right before he catches that football.

Quote:I see like 3 or 4 field lines (increments of 5 yards) between Sanders and the first wave upon catching that football. Thats 15-20 yards.
And with an even slower gif I bet you can see half a dozen lines between the coverage and the catch.

Are you blind?

Threads like this is why nobody takes you seriously.

You can clearly see two defenders around 8 yards in front of Sanders.

You are just making this up to try and justify your bizarre obsession with Sanders.

You would be better off just saying, "oh yeah, it was 8 yards. My bad".

Take the hair net off your face and watch it again.

Sanders had a 40 yard cushion in HD.

Are we sure the Falcons even had players on the field?

Not in SUPER HD.

Are you? Watch as he's in his backpedal, you can count the increments of 5 yards totaling at least 15.

The people that are stating "8 yards" are late in their stopwatch. They are waiting until Sanders actually is running forward for awhile before measuring, to make it seem like there was less of a cushion.

Seriously, are you going to sit there and try to tell me that a cushion of THAT amount in that GIF is commonplace as an NFL punt returner??? Thats among the most free room I've ever seen a punt returner get.

Yards are measured by stopwatches?  Really?

Forget the hairnet.  Get the agenda off your face.

My God you act as if the guy had 40 yards of free space.

Yes, he had more than the average punt return. Was it like you say? Flat out no.

Meaning the point when they started counting. They waited until the play was already developing before counting the yards between Sanders and the first tackler.

I measured the yardage (between he and the first wave) at the time right before he catches the football which is where you should measure it to get a fair reading.

How often do punt returners at this level of football get that kinda space??? Very very rarely.

So you're counting the time BEFORE he catches the football?

If the Falcons players cover that much ground in the split second it takes Sanders to field the punt and start running, they need to be on the US Olympic team.

the point right before he catches it (as he's about to catch it) Clearly 15 yards between he and the first wave.

When the ball was punted there was at least 40 yards between Sanders and the nearest defender. Does that EVER HAPPEN in the NFL????????

That's legitimate to point out.  He had an incredible cushion before the ball was punted.
Quote:Thats fine, I didn't think anyone could dispute my actual point regarding the GIF

I can.... Doss had one where there was open room around him at least 10 to 15 yrds and he got a whopping 2 yrd return. Believe it was his first return.

And it was at least 5 yards more before the ball was snapped.
