Colvin was going to be put on the IR as soon as he was drafted. Everyone knew that.

I definitely agree that the focus should be on the future for Aaron Colvin. While Colvin will be limited in what he can do from a team perspective in practice this season because he's on I.R., he can still benefit from watching his teammates practice and the classroom work. Next off-season, barring a setback, Colvin should be well equipped to compete in practice, with the expectation of him at least competing to be the team's primary nickel back in 2015.

I know and respect where you are coming from. But when considering that Gus Bradley rated Aaron Colvin as the 2nd best CB in the 2014 Draft for the Jaguars purposes, it's easy to see why the decision was made to take Colvin in the 4th Roumd.

If Aaron Colvin is placed on the regular season PUP list, that means he was never taken off the Training Camp PUP list. Reading the earlier part of the thread, I assumed that Colvin practiced with the Jaguars this summer. Apparently, that's not the case, based on the info you provided, as once a player is taken off the Training Camp PUP list, he's not eligible for the regular season PUP list.

I don't recall him being taken off, but I could be wrong. I tend to believe the team wants to sit him for as long as they can, but get him some practice and possibly game action late in the year.
