Quote:You're right. I re-read your post and stand corrected.
I read the words "Henne", "3rd" and "4th" rounder then my brain exploded from the improbability of that ever happening.
No worries. Kudos for not rearing up at being corrected. Happens more often than not on these forums.
Quote:I just saw this alert on my phone and came here to post the same idea. Can't believe I'm thinking the same thing as TMD. Not saying a trade will happen, but it is an interesting situation and worth discussion. Relationship exists if I recall between Caldwell and Snead. A 3rd next year would be fair, and of course if they happen to have a Center...
A 3rd for a 7 year journeyman QB? I am a Henne fan (by this boards standards anyway), and I don't think he is worth that at all. 5th, 6th? Maybe that, but a 3rd? You don't trade 3rd round picks for backups. Stroud and Hendersen went for 3rds (when they were still good).
Now if Rams offer a 3rd, I take it in a second tho. Bortles will be fine.
Quote:Any GM that trades anything for Henne should be fired immediately. He isn't even better than most backups in this league, yet some are thrilled having him as a starter.
This is wrong, Henne is better than most backups. I doubt there are even 5 'backups' that are legitimately better.
if caldwell pulled this off he would be on par with god
Now would be the time to trade for Kirk Cousins after Joe Theissman threw RGIII under the bus.

lol, And the Jags new GM is Dave Godwell.
Matt Flynn got traded for a conditional draft pick to the Raiders. Maybe they'll dump Schaub and go with Carr.
So I brought this up in another thread...
Do you pull the trigger on Henne for the Rams 5th?
BTW TMD I usually think you're trade theories are ridiculous, but this one is pretty awesome.
So who backs up Bortles? Morris? Stanzi? dosen't seem like a good idea but maybe next offseason.
Quote:Really really doubt it happens.
I really hope you're right. But Tebow is a zombie that just won't die.

he can't play QB. Might make a good FB or TE though.

...Who backed up Russell Wilson when they dealt Flynn so Russell could start? The same level of crap QB as the above.
Henne and Stanzi to the Rams; Shaun Hill and #3 to the Jags.
Hill becomes the starter here, Bortles takes over when the boys think he's ready, Hill becomes the backup.

I don't like this, I'd rather Henne (who knows the system) start the season the Shaun Hill...

Flynn was Wilson's backup for a whole year before being traded.
If they can somehow get something for Henne I have no problem. I think having a good backup QB is rather pointless because if your starter goes down your season is over anyway. The Bledsoe/Brady situations are extremely rare. If the Rams come along and are stupid enough to offer us a 4 or 5 for Henne I say take it.
Quote:You don't need an excuse to start him if he is ready.
But certain posters who have entrenched themselves in the he mustn't start camp do.
