I think 4 or fewer games is a pessimistic view. Our schedule doesn't look as tough as last years. And our team should at least be a little better than last year.

Gabbert is starting 0 games this year.

So 5-7 is probably fair.

8-9 is cautiously optimistic

10 wins/wildcard is overly optimistic

11+ is silly (or delusional for you more angry posters)

I think Bortles could lead this team to 10 wins.

I think Henne all year will lead to 6-7.

I think we see both QBs this year and get 8 wins. More of them coming later in the year when we face some "easier" teams.

This is a fun thread to save.

My predictions:

- Shorts gets outplayed by Lee or gets traded

- Jags go 6-10

- Henne gets injured first half of season and Bortles replaces him doing average (I suspect he'll light the world up in 2015)

- M. Lewis breaks out (againlol) and puts up 2010-like numbers

- Cyprien has a so-so year

- Denard Robinson solidifies himself as the backup RB

- O-line performs overall better than we expect and D-line performs worse than we expect.

- Colts easily win AFC south with Jags in tight race for 2nd but end up 3rd.

- Caldwell drafts an Olinemen with first round pick next year.

Bonus/on the limb prediciton - Blackmon gets re-instated next offseason and plays at some point in 2015.

7-9 for the season, with us being in the "hunt" in early December.  Next year, we make it to the playoffs.  The year after, we're SB 51 Champs, the Jags over the Panthers.

6-10

bortles takes over at week 7 against the browns with us at 2-4 with wins over the redskins and steelers

bortles starts the two home game run with a win against the browns where our defense shuts them down offensively and bortles leads two td drives for a 20-6 win

he then rocks off three more wins against titans, texans and the giants

Looks fair to me except the last part is unrealistic. I will be praying for a playoff berth this year if Blake Bortles starts much earlier than expected.
Jags finish 6-10 or 7-9.

Oh, so you won't be praying for a playoff berth if Henne plays? Just Bortles?? lol.

Could be right. Bortles creates a sliding scale you know the bookies and Vegas hate.

I agree with the first four and certainly hope the bottom prediction is correct - just as long as the playing at some point in 2015 is for the Jags and not some other team.

My picks:

1. at Eagles - L

2. at Redskins - W

3. Colts - L

4. at Chargers - L

5. Steelers - L

6. at Titans - L

7. Browns - W

8. Dolphins - W

9. at Bengals - L

10. Cowboys* - W

11. Bye

12. at Colts - L

13. Giants - W

14. Texans - W

15. at Ravens - W

16. Titans# - W

17. at Texans - L

8-8., barely miss the playoffs

Does it matter who the QB is before you are willing to pray for a playoff berth?  Kind of selective.  Not really what fans do.

If Henne plays all 16 games, there is no way we will still be in the hunt in December.

You.... ya just... I mean... C'mon!

No matter who the QB is, you should be rooting for the playoffs.

So, as a fan, you won't pray for a miracle with Henne?  Some fan you are.

we don't know that.

Henne went 4-4 in his last 8 games last year.

What matters is how many wins we have after Thanksgiving. Of course if Henne surprises people and does a good job before then, I will be more optimistic about our playoff chances.

But you still won't pray for him.

That's not very nice.

Why do you say "we"?.... You root for the Broncos!

But broncos aren't cats.
Jags lose the first 5 games then Bortles get in and wins 7 of the last 11
