Easy there buddy. If the team knew he was injured but didn't disclose it in the injury report, that's an NFL rule violation. Let's hope that nothing serious comes of it.
Quote:So they thought they had a better chance of winning with a QB with a separated shoulder and wrist tendonitis over Henne?  Then why are they paying Henne $4M a year?

Apparently because Khan likes wasting money.

She said the same thing but more along the lines of not believing he was injured since he wasn't listed on the injury report.

As someone else already said it's common for players to play with injuries that the team is unaware of.
LOL Bortles running to a beat writer... "it wasnt my fault man, I was hurt all season". Tough, strong minded leaders do not cry about injuries. Get this clown outta here now! The sooner Blake and Dave are gone the better will improve without these jokers.

The starting QB has multiple shoulder separations and the team doctors are unaware of the injury? Sounds like there's more people in that building that need to be shown the door if that's the case.

Agreed.

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles told @ESPNdirocco that he played this season with two shoulder separatoins and wrist tendonitis.

This explains so much.

Bring in a mid rd QB/vet FA to push. But this helps ease my mind a bit, and seeing him play his last two weeks with good mechanics and solid football helps.

I expect an apology from MJF for constantly doubting my opinion that something was definitely wrong with Bortles' arm.

The season is over. The fact that we're just now finding out about this means he played tough all season without the slightest complaint.

If you're gonna use the excuse that he was injured for his pathetic play this year, then you also have to believe that he is extremely selfish and hindered the entire team everytime he set foot on the field when be shouldnt be.

Having your qb unable to properly throw a football is sort of a disadvantage...
It would be interesting to understand when these injuries happen.

It was said that the coaching staff noticed Blake mechanic problems again right back in training camp (and there were some videos around of ducks being thrown at times).

Guess we'll never know what really happened for sure.

Quote:It's pretty obvious one of those shoulder separations happened late in the season against Detroit, but who knows when the tendonitis began and the other separation happened.

Quote:I remember him hurting his shoulder in the Detroit game.

It's tough to know the precise timing because there appears to be multiple issues with his arm, but the arm was clearly at its worst during the Raiders game. He should have been yanked during that game.

You will die an ungratified man in that regard I'm afraid.

on topic:  most are not surprised to learn he had something going on besides just a regression in technique

I DO believe it was a combination of things. Not just the injury.   And yes, he is tough as nails.  Just to stand in and take some of the hits he took w/o learning of the shoulder separations.

Doesn't change any of my thinking. I want him to have competition beyond Allen in camp.

You dont think the coaching staff and team doctors knew this?

Come on...Gus and co. are to blame if anything.
Quote:Guy had shoulder seperations and tendonitis and instead of pulling him in a losing season we let him keep chucking 40 times a game

Our franchise is absolutely inept, they have no idea what theyre doing.

I kept thinking, and posting, that he really just needs to rest his arm for a couple weeks. It would have been a tough call, but benching him for a game or two earlier on might have gone a long ways toward salvaging his season. He hasn't really started to throw well until the past few weeks. Instead, the not only kept playing him, but he ended up having the most attempts in the league at one point.

Does anybody actually believe this?

I sure dont.
If the team knew, they were dumb not to pull him. Especially when the playoffs were out of reach.

If he didn't disclose it, I'm not sure I believe it. Perhaps he's looking for an excuse to blame his poor play on.
I think Blake got wrist tendinitis because he misses his ex.

It's not hard for me to believe he separated his shoulder after watching the hits he took in so many games.

It's also not hard to believe he developed tendonitis in his wrist overcompensating for his hindered ability to throw the ball.

I still think he needs major help getting his ability to throw the damn football properly sorted out and I still want competition at the position --- but yeah   -- he played like he was hurting.
Why even waste a draft pick on a 3rd stringer who can't even see action when your QB is hurt?
