lol
Quote:I expect an apology from MJF for constantly doubting my opinion that something was definitely wrong with Bortles' arm.

Borles arm is whats wrong with his arm...

Quote:The season is over. The fact that we're just now finding out about this means he played tough all season without the slightest complaint.

Why say anything at all? its about convenience for bortles. Keep it quiet during the season to keep playing. Oh I didn't play so well?! "I was hurt"

I'd have wrist tendinitis too if I threw a ball with such horrific mechanics

Quote:LOL Bortles running to a beat writer... "it wasnt my fault man, I was hurt all season". Tough, strong minded leaders do not cry about injuries. Get this clown outta here now! The sooner Blake and Dave are gone the better will improve without these jokers.
Lol...Blake couldn't breathe without you criticizing him for using too much O2.
Quote:Why even waste a draft pick on a 3rd stringer who can't even see action when your QB is hurt?
He's obviously really bad.
Quote:Easy there buddy. If the team knew he was injured but didn't disclose it in the injury report, that's an NFL rule violation. Let's hope that nothing serious comes of it.

They knew. Especially around the time of those Lions and Raiders games, anyone watching the game on TV should have known. The announcers were even talking about it in one of the games, and I think it was the Raiders game when he was holding his arm down low reflecting an obvious separation. I was calling for him to sit with his obvious arm condition for several weeks leading up to those games.

I'm not sure exactly what the rules are as to the nature of injuries, but the team doctors had to have known. Anybody who denies that he was going through arm issues is only lying to themselves. They know too, but much like the team won't admit it.

Quote:So they thought they had a better chance of winning with a QB with a separated shoulder and wrist tendonitis over Henne?  Then why are they paying Henne $4M a year?

Caldwell likes throwing Khan's $$ in the trash.

That also explains why Caldwell extended Gus Bradley's contract on 1/22/2016 to run an extra year through the 2017 season (after coming off of an embarrassing season finale loss by a score of 30-6 vs the Texans).

They kept Allen around for his future potential because there's no way he'd last on the PS. I still wonder if he might be Dak 2.0 if they actually played him. At any rate, I truly believe he deserves a shot to compete under the new HC, but I can't say the same for Henne. As much as they're paying Henne, he should have played. Besides, only Henne was actually active on game days so it's like not Allen was ever a game day option.

BTW, if you at all doubt my scouting ability...

Just look at what Corey Grant did in this last game when they actually played him.

If he was well enough to be in the games, he would have been better served not mentioning the injuries at all in my opinion.  Unless he's getting surgery for something.  Otherwise, it comes off a little disingenuous.  I really hope Caldwell isn't foolish enough to pick up the 5th year option.

I'm not sure teams are required to disclose anything as long as his official status is not limited. Now, had he been a mysterious gameday inactive after a week of being off the injury report, questions would arise.

Khan is a business man, and approaches decisions more from than angle than from a pure football angle. While he's quick to get a lot done, he's by no means impulsive. He'd rather give a guy an extra year to see if he can rebound than risk waiving him too early. The last thing Khan needs is seeing one of his former HCs taking another team to the Playoffs after giving up on him too early. This almost happened with Mularkey, but fortunately the Jaguars knocked them out of the Playoffs.

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles told @ESPNdirocco that he played this season with two shoulder separations and wrist tendonitis.

Not sure how long he was playing with these injuries, but if he was dealing with these early in the season, it could partially explain the major regression in his mechanics. Either way, hopefully he works hard this offseason to at least get his mechanics back to a 2015 level.

what a beast
If you're healthy enough to play, then no excuses.

We all remember how Coughlin kept FT's injuries secret. After the season, FT finally had to stand up and say something.  ...then again, according to ThunderCat this makes him a whiny, losing clown.

I never heard him make any excuses week in and out.

This is the story about the injury

This explains so much.

Bring in a mid rd QB/vet FA to push. But this helps ease my mind a bit, and seeing him play his last two weeks with good mechanics and solid football helps.

Yeah.  Glad to see that injury was the reason for the poor play and not lack of ability.

Heck, the fifth year option is nothing compared to what good qbs make these days. At that position it's worth paying if there is any chance he might succeed, and with Blake having watched his 2015 season, there is plenty of reason for hope.

Bortles channeling his idol, Brett Favre.  Once he is healthy I think he will push for a big contract in the next couple years.  In a QB starved league, Bortles will earn a couple more big contracts if he can stay healthy.

Even if this is mildly exaggerated I think it is a very smart PR move by the Bortles camp.

What's the difference if he does it week in and week out or as soon as the season is over?
