I'm taking Manziel/Bridgewater 10 times out of 10 over Bortles.

I was comparing his draft stock rather than his play, He's not worth a first round pick, go watch him play.

Quote:Actually I wasn't really being all that serious about it, freak. Nor was I intending any condescending tone at the other poster. It was more just joking around.so why use the term "freak"?

I’m a UCF alum so I will admit bias.
That being said I have watched every collegiate game that Bortles has played (30+). The best way to describe him….he WINS.
He never quits. He does not get flustered. He’s a leader. He controls the huddle and the offense. He’s the first one in the film room and the last one to leave. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and finds a way to WIN. Sure he makes mistakes. Can you name a quarterback in the NFL that doesn’t?
A lot of you here are not sure about this pick, but I’m telling you…you will love this kid. There is no do
ubt in my mind he will lead the Jags to great things. Be patient and enjoy the ride.
Quote:Rewind back to May, and there were a bunch of us fans who were not happy with the selection of Bortles. I was one of them, and recall voicing my displeasure with the pick. I did warm up to it over time, but felt that the plan to sit him and groom him behind Henne was absolutely the right thing to do.You couldve at least defeathered it, is it even cooked? Yuckie!
It is having said all the preceding, that I come forward to feast on some crow. Bortles has sold me. I worry about playing him behind that putrid offensive line, but if the coaches start him game one, I'm now behind it 100%. I am manning up and saying that I was completely wrong on this guy. I know there were a lot of others who did too. If they see fit, they can join me at this fine feast of crow.
Quote:From Jungle CatIt's Jungle Cat... I don't even read his posts anymore because he never has any clue what he's talking about.
Only a warped franchise would have Bortles at the top of their draft board. He sucks. He will suck. He will retire still sucking. The fact that David Caldwell turned his nose up at Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews simply means Bortles will have a much shorter career. So will Bradley and Caldwell.
Eat your crow
