Actually I wasn't really being all that serious about it, freak. Nor was I intending any condescending tone at the other poster. It was more just joking around. 

I thought Blake had the potential to be better then Teddy years down the road, but vastly preferred Teddy. Hes proving me wrong very quickly and im glad.

 I’m a UCF alum so I will admit bias.



 

That being said I have watched every collegiate game that Bortles has played (30+).  The best way to describe him….he WINS. 

He never quits.  He does not get flustered.  He’s a leader.  He controls the huddle and the offense.  He’s the first one in the film room and the last one to leave.  He plays with a chip on his shoulder and finds a way to WIN.  Sure he makes mistakes.  Can you name a quarterback in the NFL that doesn’t? 



 

A lot of you here are not sure about this pick, but I’m telling you…you will love this kid.  There is no doubt in my mind he will lead the Jags to great things.  Be patient and enjoy the ride.

Good call, but you had watched him for a long time so you had a little more insight then the average Jaguars fan.  And you have to remember, when we heard this initially some of us were thinking back to the time some Missouri fans were coming on saying very similar things about Gabbert.  As it turns out, these guys are *nothing* alike but as they say, once bitten twice shy.

Only a warped franchise would have Bortles at the top of their draft board. He sucks. He will suck. He will retire still sucking. The fact that David Caldwell turned his nose up at Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews simply means Bortles will have a much shorter career. So will Bradley and Caldwell.

I admit that when they announced the pick, my initial reaction was "Nooooooo god please no!!" at the draft Party at the stadium.

 

I also freely admit that I didn't "study" Blake Bortles at all.  To me, Blake sounded a lot like Blaine (the name itself) and I wanted no part of that.

 

I also was worried that he shot up the draft boards simply because he had a good pro-day, which I thought was meaningless.

 

I was very wrong.

 

As soon as I started watching his highlights, I could see what the Jaguars saw.  I will GLADLY eat my crow.

 

Good job Caldwell.

Too bad Blake couldn't hand feed all of you crow

How do you guys prefer your crow? I have heard broiled and fried come out quite tasty.
