Brewster's play has been no worse than the crappy game the entire starting O-line had tonight. Linder and McClendon got pushed around all night, Joeckel gets beat regularly.

Quote:Linder is a rookie and Joeckel is coming off an injury after sitting out his rookie season with one game at LT. Let them adjust (especially Linder).and Brewster's had a total of 2 starts at center. He took zero snaps at guard all week, and played well there tonight. You can spin this anyway you like , but no one has set themselves apart at center or right guard. If anything, McClendon has been terrible at both.
McClendon is a below average back-up.
Brewster has always been terrible.
Bowanko has upside. Play him.

Regardless of who they choose, the position will most definitely get addressed in the offseason.
Quote:Or it's already addressed by a guy who will grow into the position this year.I don't see that guy on our roster.

Quote:Well, gosh, after 3 whole preseason games I can see why.Gene Smith is gone. We no longer put all our hopes on a rookie UDFA to develop.

If someone on the current roster is able to beat out whoever they bring in next offseason then more power to them, but I promise you they are bringing someone new in next offseason.
Quote:You do know that the guy who is the topic of this thread was drafted, yes?Doesn't change the fact that they will be bringing someone new in next year.

Quote:Why not? He's not any worse than either Brewster or McClendon, and the upside is certainly higher. All things considered give the rookie the shot for the upside.
Quote:Chances of a better player getting cut are slim to none.
This is who we've got until next offseason.
Quote:If Bowanko wins the starting job,and becomes a quality center, then huge props to Dave for finding him in the 6th rd of the draft
Quote:Chances of a better player getting cut are slim to none.Agreed. They're not going to find a starting center on the waiver wire.
