Quote:Shorts/Lee/Robinson/Hurns/Sanders

I give Mike Brown his walking papers after Sanders comes back.
Allen Hurns is my UDFA man crush right now, if he contineus to develop he could be pushing for a top spot on our WR corp.
Hurns is the diamond in the ruff. Dont matter about Brown or Hurns. Neither will see the field.

Hurns will be on the active roster and Hurns will definitely see the field.

I think he meant to say Brown because there is a chance Hurns could start.
I don't see how you can release Brown he has been pretty consistent and healthy for us. I think with a true #1 and 2 WR on the field he will look really good as the #3. Maybe it's just because he gets more targets and I'm familiar with him, but I think Brown sticks.

I think Brown sticks around. He had some nice moves after he catch against Chicago last week.
With the emergence of Hurns i think both could be gone. CS3, Lee, Robinson, Hurns, Ace, and Doss if he shows he can return punts and kicks. I think Brown will be the guy to stick while Ace serves his suspension but after that he will be sent on his way. They may try to stash him on the PS though. The Hurns really hurt these guys. I think Doss will get the nod only because he is the only true threat at KR and PR

With the injuries in the WR corps in the offseason and camp, I think they'll keep six (counting Ace).  The final spot will come down to Doss, Brown, and Taylor.  Although Doss has return ability, he may lose out simply due to not being available for any meaningful evaluation.  Taylor is less versatile position-wise than Brown, giving the slight nod to Brown.  If Doss can get back on the field in camp, he would have a shot to unseat Brown for the spot.

I really really like Mike Brown, and two weeks ago I would have said that he was a lock, but I think Taylor may be making a move for his roster spot.

How do you guys see it and who would you like to see us keep? Any way they both make it? Any way they both get cut?
I dunno maybe they keep both?  I mean Ace Sanders will be out for four games, Blackmon wont play this year if ever and with all the injuries the WRs had up to this point from camp & preseason maybe they'll make room by cutting other postion depths?

If I had to guess I would think that Mike Brown gets one more year to try to prove himself as a Jaguar and Taylor gets cut, maybe Doss cut too..

I disagree.  I'm pretty sure Hurns will see the field.  He's earning that in the preseason. Whether it pans out in the regular season or not remains to be seen, but he's taken full advantage of the opportunity he's been given.

Both can flip a coin. Whoever doesn't drop it stays.

Quote:Mike Brown is afraid to make a catch in traffic, I do not like him very much honestly.. too many drops. That being said, haven't seen enough of Taylor to have a definitive opinion but he's been on the end of some nice plays recently.

I don't think that's accurate.  The two drops he had against Tampa he got destroyed by the DB.  I wouldn't have blamed any of our other WR's not making it after those hits.  Then he did come back with a nice catch over the middle for 20+ yards IIRC right after those drops.

I would think Brown is ahead of Taylor at this point.  Things could change over the next two weeks, but Taylor does have history of drops if that means anything.

And when Ace is back, I don't think it's going to matter which of the other guys has more PR yards.  Ace is probably going to get the punts after he's back.

I like Mike Brown. Usually he's fairly reliable. Not the biggest or fastest guy out there but he knows the playbook and runs good routes. He's a good guy to play in spot duty and can even start in a pinch. I think he has more veteran savy than Taylor.

Taylor does add more to the equation for special teams though.  It would be hard to keep 6 receivers if your bottom 2 guys don't add much to ST.

I do hope Hurns and Brown make it to the final roster and after Sanders comes back (who knows if it'll be only 4 games..)
Brown - he's only been at the WR spot for over a year.  He has more potential.

That's a good point and may ultimately be the deciding factor.
Shorts, Lee, Robinson, Hurns, Taylor, Brown

I think Doss is the cut and when Sanders returns we'll let go of the under achiever of Taylor and Brown.

Just a guess.... Doss hasn't been getting any reps, he's a vet casualty unless he just dazzles with PR duties.

I actually like all 3 of Brown, Taylor and Hurns. I'd have no worries with those 3 as the starters if that ever needed to happen. Having Lee + Robinson only adds to how happy I am with the WR corps.

I'd keep all 3 and explore trade possibilities for Cecil to perhaps acquire interior OL help.

The broken record has returned.
