I expect a convincing win for us tomorrow. A win won't tell us much against a clots team not playing for anything. A loss would be more telling.
'the Colts are not going to lay down and let us  sweep the series and lose to the Jags at home.  It looks like the Colts have more skin in the game then the Jags. So I can't agree on the Colts have nothing to play for. I think it will be a game that both teams want to end the season with a win. If Doug gets this team to play like last week then he should be a serious candidate for the head coaching Job.
both teams are 0-0 in 2017  after todays game 1 will be undeafted, and the other winless.

Not even.

Two victories at the end of a season that is already for all practical purposes over has little meaning. It certainly does not prove (either one way or the other) that Marrone is the man for the HC position here. It's a case of 'two little, two late'.

pun intended. As for Marrone, his established record as a head coach elsewhere speaks far more loudly than the two end of season wins here.

This game means nothing.
Big for Marrone and some of the fringe roster / looking to get paid guys but not for this franchise as a whole. The coaching search will be conducted no matter what happens and while Marrone can help himself it's crazy to think he could actually lockup the HC spot with zero consideration given to other prospects based on two games.

Look for some of the lesser back roster guys to try and shine today but other then that the offseason awaits.

In fact this game is important for one thing : draft position.

If we win and Chicago lose, we are 4th and Chicago 3rd.

So go Colts I guess !

I think the Jags are playing for pride in that they know they're better than a 3 or 4 win team. Marrone is also coaching for a gig here or elsewhere and the clots were just eliminated from playoff contention last week. Whatever Irsay decides to do with Pagano, I can't imagine this game has any bearing on the decision that's probably already been made. The game couldn't be more meaningless for them in my eyes. I'd consider sitting Luck or pulling him early if I were them. Can you imagine the uproar in clot nation if he were to tear an ACL or suffer some other injury in this meaningless game that would put his availability for next season in doubt?
I type the way I type because it's difficult for me to type in paragraph form when I have many points to make and it's REALLY hard to bullet lines with me phone...

My next post ...I'll try again in paragraph form.

This game is completely meaningless as far as the coaching hire is concerned. The only way Marrone gets into the final mix is if the 5 or 6 better options pass on the job.
OP step away from the punch bowl and have a seat.

Wow wolf, bandwagon much? Ditching the jags for the front running cowboys.

I respect your opinions much more than those of most of the other posters here...

It make no sense to me at all that we have an idiot coach ( Gus).

And in steps Marone...We win big...Maybe twice in a row...And it doesn't matter re: the coaching decisions?

To me it matters a lot.

Even if we both lose we're still 4th behind Chicago I believe

If he was being seriously considered for the job, he would have gotten the interim gig a lot sooner. He's a seat warmer regardless of what happens today. What this exposes if they win again today in a meaningless game is that the division was as bad as most expected it to be, and that mediocre coaching at the helm could have won it. We aren't shopping for a mediocre head coach.
Tomorrows game means very little.

This team would be better served to slide in the draft this year. Unfortunately, we can't slip out of the top five at this point, so hopefully we can trade down.
