Quote:We literally just had a thread of people saying Alualu has been solid, and now people here are ready to let him walk.
I don't understand this board.
Me either cause fans say Prince is solid??????? How many keep drives alive plays did he give up. We are only as good as our weakest links.

Gosh, I hope that's not true of the message board...
Na....only just a few cold ones

Only thing I disagree with is Alualu. He's a versatile depth guy. Should be a cheap resigning, fills our FB role and makes the occasional play on defense. With the quality of DLinemen we have, he may be the odd man out, though.

Versatile in the sense that he can play multiple positions and make zero impact at any of them. The guy is trash, and always has been, plain and simple. Sign a DT off the scrap heap to provide depth and sign an actual FB and wash our hands of this bust.

Yet he's registered sacks, TFLs and pancaked 2 defenders at once on the TD Run last week at FB...
That's more than zero impact plays.
He's a solid depth guy. Teams need role players like him.

He's trash, and I'll be glad when we are rid of him. Time to finally wash away the gene smith stink from this franchise and make it great again.

Don't bother arguing with Jerrad. Dude doesn't even have the brainpower to think of a synonym for trash.

I agree with these.
These guys should come back only if the price is right.
The rest I either don't have an opinion on one way or another, or don't care if they leave.

Easily the worst mod on here. At least the other power hungry mods occasionally talk about football.
Whoever is in charge of bribing the refs should be the first one fired.
We should cut Gipson, the guy is below average and gets paid too much.
I'm over Amukamara every time I see him he's getting made a fool of by some mediocre WR

Keep all restricted free agents
Unrestricted
Luke Joekel
They probably resign him since his market will be low and he knows the Jags are his best option
Jonathan Cyprien
Resign if they get him no more than 2 guaranteed years
Abry Jones
He will be tough. With Roy Miller coming back, the Jags see him as a backup and someone will sign him to starter money
Bryan Walters
Denard Robinson
Arrelious Benn
Let all 3 walk
Prince Amukamara
Definitely resign
Tyson Alualu
Patrick Omameh
Resign cheap
Keep your restricted FAs
If Luke signs a prove it deal I would try to keep him and see if he can improve with better coaching. If he wants anything significant, let him go.
I would make an effort to keep my secondary together and resign Prince and Cyp. I don't think either will have unreasonable contract demands.
Abry is almost a must resign at this point. Potential future at an important position with scheme flexibility.
Resign to compete in camp:
Walters
Benn
Omameh
Alualu
Walk:
Robinson
Likely Luke and Alualu gone as well
One plus for Dave, this is the most talented group we have had heading to FA in a long time. I would be fine keeping all of them and a few would be hard to replace if they leave.
My take:
QB: 50
/50:
Bortles will probably be competing for his starting job at training camp next year. This depends if the new coach see's more positive or negative in Blake Bortles. They have to bring in an insurance policy.
RB:
Ivory and Yeldon have both been major disappointments. Inury and fumble prone are two things you cannot have in your starting tailback. Almost certainly replaced
TE:
I do not see Julius or Marcedes Lewis back. Will be cut/waived and hope to find an upgrade in free agency or draft.
W/
R:
Robinson, Walter, and Lee are the only ones I can say are 100% safe. Hurns was invisible before the injury, There is nobody else to really talk about Can see an upgrade here
LT:
Beachum was a good signing. I can see him playing at an even higher level next year with the injury behind him.
LG:
The Joke is probably released. This position needs an upgrade
C:
Linder has been an ok center. Give him another year at the position and lets see what he has got. Could use some competition here.
R
G:
Just average. Could use an upgrade as well. Our interior line needs an overhauling.
RG:
Parnell played well for most of the year. I think he is good enough
MLB:
Poz has been playing pretty good football despite his age. I think he has atleast another year or two of high caliber play in his future. Miles Jack should be moved to olb with his speed
OLB:
I believe you will see Miles Jack playing this position in the future. Dante Fowler should also be moved to LB and would be great as a 3-4 inside rush LB. Telvin Smith is another LB I would love to see him use his talent to rush the QB. Atleast 4 decent players here
CB:
Ramsey, amukamara, Colvin. Needs some depth but pretty good at the starting CB posiitons.
FS:
I can't say I am a Gibson fan. Pretty poor tackler and bad in coverage from what I have seen this year. His play declined in Cleveland before he got here. Despite his cries of being "misued" I think we need an upgrade.
SS:
Cyprien is a good "in the box:" safety. The problem is this position is the way of the dinosaur and rarely ever used in the NFL anymore. Cyprien is a huge liability in pass coverage. Under Bradley pretty much played a 4th LB. He could be a decent player under certain systems but don't see him here next year if the defense changes.
Kicker:
Myers missed a few but made the majority of his kicks. He has a cannon leg that can kick them from 60+.
Punter:
Brad Nortman has been a rockstar this year. He was by far our best special teams player.
