Quote: :woot:  Get ready???  Where have you been?

That debate started about 12 seconds after Goodell announced "With the third pick.........."

And it will continue until such time as he's the starter.

Hitting a fever pitch if Henne throws a pick anytime in the first three games.
pffff a pick, first batted pass of the preseason, (i put my money on the second pass he throws) and people will want Bortles in

lol some comedian on NFL AM (Gary Owen) I think it is says we will go 0-16. can't wait till we give them a reason not to hate. It's gonna take some winning and a while but it will be worth it. I'm just ready for football.

You're probably right.....he should throw it deep on every play, nothing to lose.
Quote:If there's a debate, let's hope it's because Bortles is doing something right.
Totally agree!  I hope we all say that Bortles should be put in sooner based on his impressive play in preseason rather than Henne's collapase of any remaining confidence bestoyed in him by Gus.

Yes, because impressive play in the preseason is always the key when the guy is facing 2nd or 3rd stringers at best.

From listening to Gus, it sure doesn't sound like his confidence in Henne is waning.  Maybe if he puts it in the bestove to cook a little longer that will happen?

I don't bet but if i i did, then i would take the over on how long it's before Bortles is starting.

I don't think there should be any time table for when Bortles should start.  The only real way he should start is if he is flat out better than the guy above him.

Hope he comes into some preseason games and shows us something promising. Other than that, he couldn't beat out Morris at this point, so starting is not an option.

That's all we should expect, and we shouldn't put a whole lot of weight into preseason performances as a measurement by which any decision should be made.  It would certainly be nice to see him perform well in the preseason, but the right level of context needs to be applied like the level of competition he's going to face, and how much of the playbook he's able to address.  Since teams barely game plan for preseason games, it'll just be a nice introduction to the NFL, then back to the sideline for the time being.
Couldn't beat out Morris? Wow
I'm ready for the Bartram practice. I won't have to go all the way downtown for a change. Hell, it's walking distance.
Bortles will start when he is clearly better than Henne

or

when we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Which ever comes first. And I for one am cool with waiting because I think this year we have a better chance of making the playoffs with Henne than Bortles, though I don't expect to.

Next season is Blake's year, in my opinion. He'll have weapons, a line, a defense, it'll be his time to thrive.

This year is about making sure everyone grows and develops.

First practice tomorrow!!!!!!
I'm actually going to hit a few practices this year.  I haven't done that in quite a long time so I'm really looking forward to it.  Really interested to see how the new receivers look (assuming they're up) and obviously the new QB(s).

Well....thats a crazy comment, but I'm still not anticipating Bortles starting anytime soon.

Ideally. about 4 games in Henne comes outn with a "minor" injury and Bortles is so good they can't get him off the field.
