Quote:Who here said he had a Leftwich type throwing motion again?

He (possibly wiseman101?  HeeRo?) and hailtoyourvictor seem very interested in creating arguments.

I've seen the Leftwich comparison before and people usually compare their throwing motions....so when I saw you say that he had Leftwich like moments, I assumed you were comparing their throwing motions.
I don't think they have similar motions, I just think that still shots of Leftwich winding up shouldn't be compared to Winston's "set"  stance to disprove it.

Quote:I hope the article in the OP is correct and he is one that leaves after taking out such a policy the year after. Jameis, should you need a few bucks to help you along the way, I will give you $5 or $10 a week to help out, so long as you agree to leave. I will need a contract signed. Thank you.

You don't want Jameis to hang around for two more years???
Id pick mariota over jameis every day.

LOL ok good joke, but lets get serious now.

I agree with him, and I'm an FSU fan. Mariota has better speed, better arm strength, better deep accuracy IMO. And obviously cleaner off field. The only thing he lacked last year was good poise and another season will help that.

Regardless of whether hes better I think he'll get drafted earlier, for off field and because everyone wants a Kaepernick these days.

LOL at better arm strength.

Yeah, that's ridiculous.

Let's just keep in mind that Jameis was a redshirt freshman. I think people forget this because he was so good. Let's see how he develops this year. Biggest thing he needs to learn is to take what's there. If he just does that little thing then he will have another great year.

I'm not saying Winston has bad arm strength but if Mariota had come out this year he would have had possibly the best arm in the class, which is saying a lot because Carr was taught since being a toddler how to throw a football.

Great analysis.

Kodiak gives the best QB breakdowns on this forum and gives pretty unbiased opinions. Give him more respect than to LOL at his comments.
I like Hundley better than either.

(ducks)

I really appreciate that, man. Thank you.

Better attitude, better speed, just generally looks smarter, and overall when I watch his game he just seems smoother and more comfortable than Jameis.
I don't like jameis at all but let's keep in mind that his talent and what he has done as a true freshman is incredible.

Idk who questioned his arm strength but Winston has a gun. One thing to remember is that baseball messes with his mechanics a bit. But I also don't think mariota is faster than Winston, if he is, its by very little.

Mariota also has a lot more experience which probably equates for the smoothness.

All that being said, have to wait until after this season to see what unfolds but right now I'm still taking mariota over Winston even though I think Winston has a lot more potential. Too many red flags, unproven consistency, and still unsure about how he responds to adversity. Probably will never get to see him have a chance to play a team that is just flat out better than his offense can handle.
Has anybody already stated that Winston will be the number 1 overall pick by a large margin?

If not- I will say it now.  "
JW will be numero uno."

Hence the insurance policy. There-- back on topic.

I seriously doubt this.

If we knew when we drafted Blackmon that he would turn out the way he did, would you have wanted him? Heck no. Let alone if he had had any prior legal issues.

Now imagine taking the first overall pick, making a guy the face of your franchise... Winston? A man who has faced allegations ofrape and theft? There's no way.

Its possible but too many variables. There are some teams that drop players pretty heavily when they have all kinds of character red flags.

There are also at least two other qbs that have the potential to lock down a higher ranking, hundley and mariota.

I wonder if the insurance policy is voided if he gets suspended for the year or has more legal run ins.
