Quote:Bingo? He completely miscomprehended my responses....

LOL....

No one is giving her a pass for the lack of common sense, and careless/ recklessness of her actions.

I was speaking purely about her compassion as a person.

I can agree with his point without having to deal with your touchy feely compassion for the person who killed two others.

Bingo.

His response/ "point?" misrepresented/ miscomprehended my premise.

I've not once let her off the hook for her negligence.

She's also did not have the intent to kill.

Not really sure theres any of that going on.

Miscomprehension? I see that.

I think everyone here agrees that her negligence was wrong and needs to be punished.

Where some differ seems to be on how severely she should be punished.

I clearly don't see "intent" to kill here, so I do not think she should be punished to the maximum extent of the law, that would apply for someone who killed people premeditated.

Laughing More or less just ribbing you and FBT, you two go at it like a married couple but it's boring when you guys let up.

he could prolly have typed just about anything there, huh?.....

Not really.  His point was spot on.  You're just too thick skulled to realize it.

FBT's a biker so its obvious where his side of the argument is coming from. I get that. I'm all for safety to all motorists, including motorcycles.

No, actually it wasn't spot on. No one I've seen is taking any opposing side just to argue.

Then again, maybe the above is your way of admitting thats pretty much what you are doing, lol

Keep swinging away, sister.  Eventually you might hit something.

Am I the only one who thinks she should be punished heavily? I doubt drunk drivers have intent to kill, yet if a drunk driver had done this, Im sure he/she would get around 20 years for vehicular manslaughter, plus a gigantic amount of community service hours once out of prison.

1. What was she doing looking at ducks so intently to notice they didn't have a mother... on an interstate like road?

2. There is compassion, and then there is stupidity. Stupidity is not an excuse for taking 2 lives.

Agreed.  No matter how noble her intentions were, what she did was about as stupid as it gets.

Drinking to past the legal limit and getting behind the wheel is a knowingly selfish and illegal act.

Trying to save baby ducks is an noble/ unselfish act.

Both can and did/ do have disastrous consequences.

No one is disputing that her execution of the noble act was poor.

I agree, but I think the lesson would be learned in this case with a year or two in jail just as much as it would 30 or more.

The fact that her attention was on ducks and not on the road is a sign she was a crappy driver, and her stupidity cost 2 people their lives.

It wasn't a noble act.  It was a stupid act.

Ask the wife / mother of the victims about that.

I doubt she'd want the girl to get a life sentence, but a year or two?  I think she'd take issue with that.

It was a noble act. The execution was poor, and the judgment was bad.

Not all black/ white here.

While drunk driving is a terrible thing, im sure its less dangerous than stopping in the left lane to pick up ducks.

Stopping in the middle of the interstate is just as selfish and illegal of an act as drunk driving.
