Quote:How? Bucks will take Parker/Wiggins and the Sixers aren't going to take Embiid with having Noel already
Quote:Why not? The Pistons took Andre Drummond when they already had Greg Monroe.
Noel can play the 4.
I could also see Philly taking Embiid and trading him like New Orleans did last year with Noel.
Because the Sixers just took a player last year that sat the year....
You really think they want to do that 2 straight years? That would be moronic. Embiid will likely wind up an injury case career wise anyway. So, yeah, actually that does sound like something the 76ers usually, do, i.e. "stupid".
And the Pistons comparison is faulty. Monroe actually has an offensive game. Noel does NOT. Noel is essentially Dikembe Mutombo. You don't want that at the 4. It would essentially be Tyrone Hill.....and that only worked in that one particular situation.
Quote:Embiid aka Oden 2.0
pretty much what I'm thinking.

If they think he is the best talent available and aren't worried about his injuries, they should absolutely take him. They aren't winning anything next year anyway, so I doubt they care if he has to sit out the year. What has the new Sixers front office done far so that has been "stupid"? Embiid has the makings of a good mid range jumper and the Sixers coaches did a total makeover on Noel's shot. All you need is one to be able to space the floor and they can work together.
I'm a Sixers fan and wouldn't be upset with either him or Exum. People think it would be hard for Embiid and Noel to work together, it would be the same with Exum and MCW. Both are really long and athletic, but neither has a reliable jumper yet. If they draft him, I wouldn't be surprised if Hinkie shocked everybody again on draft night and traded MCW for a top 10 pick. I just hope Wiggins somehow falls and makes this all moot.
Two top 10 picks, potential trades of Thad Young and MCW, and 5 second round picks. Should be a fun night for Philly fans.

I don't mind if they trade MCW for a hefty return....however, if you do trade him, you gotta end up with Exum by the time this drafts over.
Also, I'm not holding out much hope on Noel on the offensive end. You'd be wise not to either. You aren't going from a non offensive player to an offensive player at this stage of the game. Noel will be Mutumbo or later stages Camby, thats pretty much it.

If that were the case, the Cavs would take him at #1. You just can't discout the fact that the dude has multiple injuries. The foot and back are somewhat critical areas to a 7 ft. body that needs to compete aganst the best athletes in the world.

I don't expect him to have much of an offensive game outside of offensive put backs and alley oops, ala DeAndre Jordan. But it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to develop a pick and pop game. For what Noel lacks, Embiid has the ability to have, including a jumper. That can work on the offensive side, imo. Not to mention the terror they would cause other offenses. If they go that way.

I never discounted that. Teams can have varying opinions on how his injuries will affect his future and if they'll plague him throughout his career.
@SamAmicoFSO: Sources out of Orlando say Cavs have inquired about Magic guard Victor Oladipo during teams' exploratory trade talks.
If they wanted to take Oladipo, I would insist on keeping Afflalo and #12. That way you could flip Afflalo for #9 and maybe even package 9 and 12 to move up and take a guy like Embiid or Smart who ends up falling some.
Not that I would have to re-consider. Not sure I am letting Oladipo and the 4th pick go.
Quote:what team are you a fan of?
I was a Sonics fan until the team moved. Not really a fan of any one team anymore. Just a fan of the game.
I could see Philly taking embiid and I wouldn't be shocked if they tanked one more year.
I would NOT trade Oladipo and #4 to move to #1.
Regarding Afflalo, he has very LITTLE trade value since his contract ends next year. Heck, you'd be lucky to get a #9 pick for Kevin Love knowing you only get him for 1 year.
Embiid is overrated. Product of hype.
averaged
20 minutes per game
10 rebounds

in todays game you need a healthy player that can get up and down the floor. back in the day, a 7 foot center was 5 inches taller then other players. these guys can't last long term anymore like Jabaar & Wilt. factor is current injuries and this dude is doomed.
Lebron, Anthony, and Kobe. Not,1,not 2, but 3. Three-peat. Kobe retires at 38,39. Lebron, anthony follows goes to the Cavaliers past his prime.

Orlando would be flat out [BLEEP] to lose Oladipo. Despite MCW getting the ROY award, smart b-ball people know that Oladipo was the actual best rookie and will be the better player going forward.

Oh, you were starting to sound like a Miami/ LeBron fanboy back there, so I was just making sure.

Since Philly has a history of screwing up in the draft, I agree. Embiid would be their next Jeff Ruland.
Afflalo was shipped to Denver for Fournier and #56th pick. Looks like they are no longer considering a trade for #1.

Cleveland did not want Afflalo so we would not have gotten the #1 anyway in an Afflalo trade.

Did you see Kobe play when he came back? He sucked. He was slow and very off. Now with the secondary injury, he is not coming back to Kobe form ... not even close.
Kobe is now more of a detriment to the Lakers and their cap than he is a benefit to the team.

They have a new regime now who look like they know what they're doing. Brilliant trade of Holiday to get the rebuild started.
