Watched "Keanu" last night.  What an oddly irreverent memoriam for GM it turned out to be.
Quote:I figured he was way older than 53...seems like he was in his forties in the eighties.

RIP

I don't think all those squealing, swooning girls back then (ahem, Bunnie) agree with you.
I might be wrong, but I don't think George Michael would be interested in any of those girls.

I squealed my fluffy little butt off!!

Everyone looked like that back in the 80's...who knew? Lol
Who knew what?

Exactly.
I don't get it.

I enjoyed the Wham! parts in Deadpool.

The band references, you dirty minds.

Quote:He was Greek.  Probably was shaving and wore a 5 o'clock shadow since he was eight or nine.

Totally off topic, but you may be correct. I coached two Nine Year Old Armenians one year, they had a thicker mustache than I did!
...and they were girls.  You should have seen their little brothers.

Oh, come on! No straight guy is wearing the outfit he did in the video for "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go".

Look back at the musical groups coming out of England at the time...not the manliest looking men.

True story!

You'd be hard pressed to find one from that era that was a pop artist. To be fair though, the poster you quoted is still kinda right. I don't know many gay men back then who would habe been caught dead in that outfit (yes, I'm that old).

He said straight men...lol

I think by that he meant the outfit was so outrageous, even gay men wouldn't be caught wearing it, let alone straight men.
Confessional:

I transcribed the saxophone solo from "careless whisper" on guitar when I was a senior in high school. To this day, I still can't play the guitar but I can hack out that cheesy solo.

That's certainly a different approach. Most guys back then were trying to learn the "Beat It" solo, but you went with that. Bold choice, my friend.

It was more about being inebriated on a friend's couch with a nylon string guitar my only entertainment while said friend was attempting to romance a cheerleader in the next room with a George Michael soundtrack.

A few good D minor licks in there for the poaching.

I don't think that's what he was going for.
