I really hope this guy blows up this season. I've been a fan of his for a while now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Branch. We just seem to have bad luck with Jags players taking on MMA training in the offseason. It doesn't seem to translate well on the field. Here's hoping he'll be the exception this year.

It was probably the MMA stuff. Not having Blaine Gabbert at QB and Mike Mularkey at HC.

Personally I don't think the MMA stuff has anything to do with it, neither did Gabbert or Mularkey. Marcedes just isn't a great player, so he doesn't play like a great player.

I wish him the best, but i have doubts.

I'm not sure I want a player with a busted hump.

Well let's see third year of a four or five year deal.  It sounds about right to me for him to get to work.  If he ever wants another decent contract it is that time that he has to start performing.  Less than 10 sacks out of him this year would be disappointing.  I also think it is hard to judge a DE until the pads go on.

If that is any indication of how hard he practiced with the Jaguars, it shouldn't come to a surprise to anyone why he busted. He's not even trying.
