That'd be really cool. Don't see ir being football. Maybe Basketball or baseball. But I think I saw where Tampa got basketball for a few years.

Yeah it's been at the Georgia Dome ever since I can remember. It's probably going to be baseball. I remember when they had the ACC Championship a few years back. It was a lot more successful there than in Greensboro this year.

Think they'll actually take it out of Atlanta?

I didn't say for football. I would be shocked if that actually happened. I think baseball is the most likely of the three.
wow that article about the "heavy hitters" is indeed a whos whos of the area when it comes to the city and sports.

I just checked and the SEC basketball tournament is open in 2017 and 2018. That could be a possibility. Football is booked in the GA dome through 2016, so 2017 is the earliest we could expect to see that change.

SEC Women's Basketball tournament had open dates in 2016/17. Don't be shocked if that is what it is.

Didn't they used to have this in Jax about 10 years ago anyway????

Mens tournament is booked until mid-next decade.

No. It was in Birmingham the first year or two and in Atlanta ever since.

I don't see it ever leaving Atlanta.

The ACC game was here for the first 3 or 4 years. First year they had a great crowd for FSU/Va Tech. After that, the matchups were terrible and so was attendance.

Really?? I must have been thinking another game

I'm hoping the announcement is about bringing back the FAMU / Bethune Cookman game !!!

... joking aside, my guess is a Notre Dame vs Navy football game.

It's the 2016 Women's SEC Basketball Championship. LAME

Sigh.
HAHAHA!  Talk about the ultimate let down.  We went from SEC football championship game to women's basketball!

If a women's basketball game takes place and no one is there to see it, did the game really happen.

Not my cup of tea, but it is expected to have an economic impact of $5 million.

Quote:I agree here. We have seen our fair share of the games best and brightest come through Jax on their way to some of the greatest all time careers.

Randy Johnson, Clayton Kershaw, Alex Rodriguez, to namea only a few.

Giancarlo Stanton....ummm, how did Mike become Giancarlo? lol

Changed it shortly after he got down to Miami. Not sure why Giancarlo though.

Edit: Got curious. Giancarlo is his actual first name, just decided to go with it.http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/20...ie-guillen
