Yeah, realistically it's definitely not looking good. I just get angry about the whole situation, he's one of the best receivers we've ever had. He actually produced on the field unlike RJ Soward / Troy Williamson / Reggie Williams (Dancing fool). It just sucks, we finally hit on a receiver and he can't keep his head straight for even one full season.

I guess this leaves Keenan McCardell as our best receiver who didn't have any drug or alcohol addictions.

LOL....save the condescending tone for someone who cares.
You have no idea what you were watching if you somehow got that Soward showed that he could be a consistently impactful player in the NFL from his rookie year.
Blackmon, OTOH, CLEARLY executed impact play his rookie year.....and it wasn't subjective in the least, like any Soward favorable reviews would have to be.
What a clown post.
Quote:Blackmon is coming back.
I think he is too. I just can't see someone who's that good at this level just throwing it all away for good.

I want him back too. Lets be honest though, if Lee and Robinson pan out, it'll be a lot easier to forget.

It's the cris Carter situation.....may be better elsewhere for him because he obviously isn't taking things serous for the jags. No one will trade for him due to baggage and expectation of his release and if we were to get a trade partner, the value will be very low due to lack of trustworthiness

The way Bradley and Caldwell responded to Justin Blackmon questions is also disheartening. It is also troubling that he is not taking any interviews. You would think NFL network or espn would like to have a talk with him.
Caldwell went after 2 potential starting wr's. Add that up with resigning shorts and ace sanders. They already said Blackmon can't be counted on

I don't think he can take interviews. That's the least concerning thing about this. You don't see suspended players racing out to find a camera to do an interview. You see statements issued by agents, and the player disappears until he's reinstated.

Wrong, it'll make the situation that much better. I couldn't care less about Shorts, but Lee/Robinson/Blackmon/Sanders... if they ALL panned out, would be one of the best WR teams in the league.

There's no way the team would find a willing trade partner regardless of the talent we're talking about. Odds are, if he's reinstated, he'll be suspended in pretty short order because he simply can't handle the pressure of being an NFL player. I think there's more to it than just substance abuse problems. I think there's a deeply rooted psychological issue that isn't going away with rehab.

Yeah, unless he comes back and strikes out again... I could see him giving it up at that point, but the new year isn't that far away and he'd be a fool to throw away all that potential money. He's had several 200+ yard games, not many can even say they have any... he could definitely make some big money. If not here, then somewhere else.

You might want to begin preparing yourself for a scenario where there is no Blackmon in that mix.

You keep saying this. How many suspensions does he need to have before you realize he doesn't care about how good a receiver he is? Why is it that difficult for you to understand that you're a fan, and he's an addict?
To the whole debate about how talented Soward is, I'm not sure why you've decided to make that a point of contention. The level of talent is irrelevant. He threw his career away because he was a drunk. We don't know how good he could have become, and it really doesn't matter. Blackmon is following the same path.

Comparing Soward to Blackmon is a Joke. Soward couldn't hold Blackmons jock.
Blackmon has been dominant in a couple of games in his short career. Soward was invisible on the field and couldn't catch. They maybe equally messed up off the field.

Maybe so, but I'd still rather have Blackmon here.

Thats what it is starting to remind me of. I went through that first hand....I HATED when Buddy simply cut Cris Carter, I knew that he had uber talent and that he'd get his act together for another team, and thats how this feels like....except that Blackmon IMO is even BETTER than Cris Carter at a similar point in each's career.

That WR corps would be so sick, and with our defense that Gus and Co. are assembling.....you can't help but feel multiple CHampionships could ensue.

Its just that if he couldn't take the pressure of being an NFL player, I can't see how he could produce so well.....some of that pressure would show up on the field. ANd that hasn't. Anywhere. Not in college, not here.

With all of Khan's resources....can't he "get through" to Blackmon??......Khan's no dummy....he has to know that Blackmon added to the current promising group of offensive players could seriously be the one who puts it over the top as far as a super bowl caliber offense goes....
I wish Khan would allocate a certain amount of dollars to do what ever it takes to get Blackmon's life straightened out and becoming the star football player we all know that he can be - here.
