Quote:Just leaving this here for all of those folks that went on and on about Ramsey's stone hands in the draft threads in March......

He also dropped an interception in the same game. Not to mention the interception he dropped against Chicago.
Quote:Corner is harder to rack up stats and highlight film. If you're going to throw the ball at the Jacksonville D, who would you throw at, Ramsey or Amukamura? Easy choice. Ramsey has lined up each week against the opponents best receiver. Go down the box scores for the year and look for their #1 receiver and his yardage. Outside of week 2 travis benjamin (not totally sure ramsey even covered him) nobody has topped 100 yards.

Jordy Nelson: 32 yards

Steve Smith: 87 yards(basically NONE after halftime)

TY Hilton: 42yards

Alshon Jeffrey: 93

Amari Cooper: 29

Maclin: 0

D. Hopkins: 48

Golden Tate: 27

S. Watkins: 80

E. Sanders: 28

S. Diggs: 55

R. Matthews: 31

He isn't Revis Island status yet but measuring him against the leagues #1 wideouts and he appears to be excellent. Rookie corners struggle usually, even good ones. Bosa looks great too, don't get me wrong, but I give the nod to Ramsey. He is quickly turning into that guy that you don't throw the ball near.
This is wrong. From the baltimore game, Smith had 1 catch for 4 yards while being covered by ramsey (ramsey jacked him up on the play too) they started moving SSS around to the slot to get him away from Jalen because he was giving smith fits. Ramsey has never allowed a 100 yard receiver. He should win DROY but because jaguars he wont Sad

I didn't want to jump the gun, but I'll go ahead and say it. To me, he looks he could become one of the best players in team history.

He's getting 2 hands on the football more and more often it seems.

I acknowledge it is difficult to get the actual numbers for cb vs wr since WRs move around and there is zone coverage. The overall numbers do tell the story though, Ramsey has been borderline dominant. You're nitpicking.
I think the OP and all thinking Ramsey is going to win, is forgetting the most important factor here: #becauseJaguars..............

Uh.. that's exactly what the OP was implying.
Honestly this last game could win DROY for him if he plays all out.

That was the knock on him coming out of FSU. But I think you can attribute that to the fact that Jimbo moved him around a lot in his secondary. He plays like a safety at the corner back position. My dad kept saying on Christmas Eve how much he thinks he'll be the next Deion Sanders. That'd be great. But no disrespect to Sanders but Ramsey has already shown that he doesn't shy away from contact at all. That kid can HIT. It's fitting he's wearing DD's #20.

At some point, this topic will be a mute point if QB's stop throwing to his side of the field anyway. Which very well could happen next year. And once this offense starts showing up early in games and jumping out to leads. And our pass rush is more consistent. He'll have even less to worry about with more chances to jump routes like that one last Saturday.

He's legit though. Make no mistake about it. All of the hype. All of the armchair and professional analysts were DEAD ON about this kid. Couldn't be more proud to call him a Jaguar. And even though he might talk a lot. He backs it up. And above all. When it came to all of the booing outside from the fanbase. He took it on the chin, took it in stride and said what a professional would say instead of taking it personal.

That kid is GREAT. Whatever Caldwell does in this draft. Keep on taking from FSU. It's worked out so far with Telvin Smith and Jalen Ramsey. I am cool with Dalvin Cook next being in teal and black if they can't get Garrett or Jones.

That's the scary thing with Ramsey.  He's got Deion potential coverage skills, with infinitely better tackling ability.  The guy hits like a monster on top of being able to shut down #1s...  I mean... yikes.

Its obviously FAAAARRRRR too early to put him in the same conversation with guys like Deion, but the potential is so obviously there... it gives you something to get excited about.
Maybe I just misread and don't remember lol was a weird night
